How do you get different titles?

This is kind of random, but how do you get different titles on the forums?  I know everyone starts off "on the coast", but I noticed today that I am now a "Scavenger".  I just want to know what it means and how would you get a different title, is it the number of posts you make, or how many beans you have?

Pretty sure it has something to do with the amount of posts you make. 

 

You might also have a different title when you have been active since the dayz of the mod (but Im not sure about that)

As far as I can remember when you reach "500" posts you can change it to whatever you like. It might even be lower post count, honestly I can't remember exactly. .
