Zeroing/Ranging with the rifles

Recommended Posts

At what point do I adjust the zeroing up? For instance, if something is 230 meters away, do I stay at 200 or go up to 300? What about 250? Etc? Thanks.

If something is 230 meters away, you would zero to 200 and aim very slightly upwards of your target. For 250 I would zero to 300 and aim down a bit.

Thanks. So you're basically saying that zeroing raises the level of your bullet?  For instance, if I wanted to zero without adjusting the rifle, I would raise my rifle above the target's head to allow for the bullet to drop, but if I use the zeroing on the rifle, it does it for me?

One way to get the hang of finding the range is marking how tall a player or zombie is at 200m, 300m, 400m +++. Mark the heights on some paper with the corresponding range next to it. All you have to do when looking through the scope is hold the paper up and see what´s closest.

Just play with a friend and use the map online to position yourselves at the right distance from each other, then make the marks on the paper ;) Soon enough, you won´t need the paper for reference.

Sniping is very hard at first, and it doesn't get easier because of the fact that long range scopes are the rarest damn thing in the game. Anyway, I don't want to make this too confusing for you, but basically just use math class skills that you've learned ever since 4th grade for zeroing. 200-240 you'd round down to 200, 250-290 you'd round up to 300, very simple. The hard thing is aiming at 300m+. With a mosin, it shoots slightly to the left of where you are aiming at around 300m+, don't worry about this too much, but when you get better at sniping, remember that.

The bullet hits to the left or i aim slightly left? im guessing if the hit mark is slightly off i would aim right of the target over 300m?

thanks.

Yes thats right, over 300m you aim a little to the right of where you wan´t to hit.

Is there a way to stabilize a gun? Like holding your breath or something like that, my char is breathing so hard I cant aim properly on very short distances with iron sights, not to speak of magnifieing ones...

When aiming down sights or through the scope you can hold-click the right mouse button and hold your breath. Good luck =)
