Crafting Formulas List

Recommended Posts

It would be fun to have a list for crafting suggestions from community that

was fast and easy to use. We could use simple formulas instead of large time

consuming posts for this.

Formulas should be nice and simple, item quantities or tool variants

(knife or machete or...) are not necessary. We only want the general idea

of the crafting process.

IMPORTANT: This is not an explicit item petition list, all items should be

craftable with EXISTING game items or map objects.

Next are some examples of the format I propose that ends with a nice

DIY vehicle and equipment disabling thermite hand grenade. Items within

brackets must be formulated in some place of this topic, items without

brackets must exist in the game or must be map objects, let's MacGyver

to be proud of us :D :

[Fast Burning Fuse] = Cooking Pot + Rope + [black Powder] + Water

[black Powder] = 12 Gauge + Knife

[Aluminum Powder] = Soda Can + Sharp Tool

[iron oxide] = Abandoned Vehicle + Sharp Tool

[Thermite] = [Aluminum Powder] + [iron Oxide]

[Homemade Thermite Hand Grenade] = Can + [Thermite] + [Fast Burning Fuse]

Love the idea of this thread!

Here are some EDITED proposals:

Chemistry first!:

[sugar]= cook(sweet canned drink)

[rocket propellant]=cook([sugar] + [black Powder])

[smoke grenade 'fuel']=cook(2*[sugar] + [black Powder])

Now some uses:

[smoke Grenade]=can+[smoke grenade 'fuel']+[fast burning fuse]

[Rocket Propellant casing]= hacksaw(spade)

[small Homemade RPG Round] = [Homemade Thermite Hand Grenade] + [Rocket Propellant Casing] + [Rocket Propellant] + Duct Tape

[Medium Homemade RPG Round] = Small Butane Tank +[Rocket Propellant Casing] + 2*[Rocket Propellant] + Duct Tape

[Large Homemade RPG Round] = Large Butane Tank + [Rocket Propellant Casing] + 3*[Rocket Propellant] + Duct Tape

Here's a pic:

See, now with this you're taking a Minecraft faggotry route rather than a realistic and modular route. If someone wants to bury something, they should not need a pen. This is an illogical progression, something that shouldn't be a part of DayZ, making new players not understand why they can't just dig a hole and put something in it.

In a realism-based game, one would expect realistic behaviours rather than formulas for something as simple as burying something.

However, I do have suggestions too, provided they can be executed in a non-retarded way. Grass/rope/duct tape + rock + sticks = improvised Axe. [player ties rock to sticks as an axe head using the affixing material].

[Popcan] + [Knife] = [2 Popcan Halves]

[bottom Popcan Half] + [Knife] = [bottom Popcan Half With Holes]

[bottom Popcan Half With Holes] + [Top Popcan Half] = [Popcan Stove - No Fuel]

[Popcan Stove - No Fuel] +[Alchocol Tincture, Rasputin Kvass or Vodka (which should be in the game.)] = [HOBO STOVE]

[Popcan] + [Knife] = [2 Popcan Halves]

[Top Popcan Half] = [useless Unless Making Another Stove]

[bottom Popcan Half] = [HOBO COOKING POT]

No problem. Wireless Detonator http://youtu.be/BBIuuNRfI60

[Wire] = Map Electric Box + Sharp Tool

[Wireless Detonator] = Walkie Talkie + [Wire] + Screwdriver + Alkaline Battery 9V

Would be nice if you can access more formulas the more time you spent alive

Concealed pockets

Using a sowing kit and two rags, you can add a single and small  "hidden pocket" to certain garbs. This pocket can only be looted if you actually put on the piece of clothing. Sowing gold coin into your uniform was a common thing during WWI and WWII

Might not make so much sense at this point but when hiding bodies becomes more realistic (either having to carry away or bury them) this would be a cool option.

Meals

I'd love to see some real meals just for kicks =o)

Like: bell pepper + rice + water + tomato + boar meat = sweet and sour pork on rice

Or cereal + powdered milk + water

Apple + red berry + orange + banana = fruit salad ;o)

What's the point? Cooking is FUN!

Obviously, more fresh foods could be implemented in the course of time. I'd like to see eggs (also from bird's nests or at derelict farms), wild onions and garlic

Turning into zombie

I heard there is a minute chance of being infected. If the infection is not treated, your character could "turn" after a certain amount of time (say 15-30 minutes). After a half a minute or so of unconciousness, you respawn where you went unconscious, losing your backpack and gun and melee weapon, then play the remainder of your life as a zombie.

Zombie players should have mad stealth skills and thermal vision, maybe even like a visual sound effect (ripples coming from sound sources). This would actually make it fun to sneak into Berezino picking on fresh-spawn or sneaking up on geared up survivalists, or lying in wait inside the airfield buildings. Obviously, the player zombie should be able to take a couple more hits than the regular one.

Pertaining to this I'd also like to mention an idea about Zombie behaviour (since this will also be an option for players that are turned)

Some zombies should crawl or just lie down quietly in wait. To add suspense, a few zombies could spawn in a lifeless state on the ground. This would also add a measure of confusion when looting. When passing by the ones that are lying in wait, they grab your ankle, stopping you in your tracks and then going for the bite, giving you roughly a second to react =o)
