Walking Wounded 199 Posted March 6, 2014 hello ladies. After a long break from dayz I decided to buy the standalone. I feel the game is much smoother and polished than the mod was. It looks better and runs better. Inventory system is a credit to its makers. I really like the scarcity of resources/loot Not so much some items for instance I just spent 6 hours in game and did not come across 1 stick then I broke my leg. :( Im wondering about the probability of certain items and thier likely locations. In my eyes sticks would be one if not the most abundant resource in a heavily forested map any thoughts on this other than dont break your leg <_< Ive come across new additions to the map. 1 stands out and that is the shipwreck in the NE. was great seeing it in the distance and I felt excited to explore it. shame I only got 3 mins in there before some nutter in his underpants and wolf mask butchered me. I can only guess at what he did with my body. I really think the clothes system is amazing. Ability to layer and add carrying capability so many combinations.. as more are introduced customization will be fantastic. Overall Im very impressed with the efforts. I do however wonder about the pace of develoment. It feels like the game went backwards 1 year in terms of content ( thats because it has.. its a new game) its frustrating for me to realise that the arma3 dayz mod is so rich with content. I am aware however that given enough time and the right pace of development this game can be truly epic. gj so far keep up the content devs :D 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
toasted duckie 156 Posted March 6, 2014 I understand what you mean when you say the mod has so much more then the standalone.I look at the mod and the SA as two separate and different games and I think that maybe, because I do this, the standalone doesn't feel 'emtpy' or 'extremely unfinished' to me.
