gannon46 788 Posted March 5, 2014 before I procede I understand its alpha. so what I hope to see once it all said and done is some atmosphere befitting to this game. the new hospital has some, blood on the bed and smeared on the floor, and I have seen the crashed bus and the plane. I hope to see more of this implemented like military roadblocks that failed to hold the hordes,helicopters that were doing rescues that crashed.and I hope to see the hospital so littered with corpses and blood that if your toon isn't wearing a respirator or gasmask he vomits and possibly gets sick from the quality of the air inside the building. I hope to see more of an atmosphere come into fruition with the updates down the road but I do understand that this would be like on of the last things done. Love to see a bit more carnage added once the core issues are resolved etc.. another one that I would love (while it would kill FPS) is having roaming hordes of zombies.. like groups of 10-20 who are not static, but on a slow tour around the map.. random encounters with a horde would be NASTY!! 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
LaughingJack (DayZ) 767 Posted March 5, 2014 Yeah, I understand that hope and share it ;) And as long it's only textures and not actual objects it's not a big problem I'd say, sure it's work and (at the moment) work that nobody has the time for, but i think we'll see a lot of these things in the future :) But objects (like corpses)...well thats something different because they could very easy "litter" the server (which means: lower Z count, lower loot count, worse server performance)... I don't wanna see corpses, because seeing every time the same corpse at the same place...i don't know it would be great the first time, but after that? A "stuck in time" moment for me.Crashed helis are already in (but have no loot atm i think), maybe there will come more...well...i think there will come more. Zjasuu 337 Posted March 5, 2014 Great ideas, I especially like the one where you need a respirator to enter an area with corpses etc. Cracks in the road with overgrowth grass coming out of them, dead trees in cities and crashed cars on roads would be nice. eleventhavenue 204 Posted March 5, 2014 Everyone seems to want this, but in a way, I feel the opposite.The blood smears, mass graves, car wrecks, and what you suggest are good designs IMO, but sometimes less is more.Pripyat is a beuatiful town. Sometimes I think the Chernarussian countryside adds to the feeling. Civilization may have gone to hell, but the rest of the world is doing fine. The plant and wildlife does not care about the humans being rabid. The world is still beuatiful. I still support you ideas, though.Altough: dead trees, why?And we're in low density rural land, where would there be any large highways? To be honest, all these asphalted 2-lane roads are pretty generous for countryside with this population density. Here in Sweden, in the area around Umeå, pretty much the biggest road in the entire region is the two-lane ´´blue road´´, Umeå is a lot bigger than Chernogorsk, and the surrounding region is really pretty populated too. There are also already some crashed cars where you'd not expect them ;)didn't think about the corpse factor on FPS and the drag on the server you are correct sir I recant that part. and large highways would be cool but if its not authentic then it should be scrapped. and even though the rest of the world is fine so to speak its hell in chenarus. as it is right now I love the beauty and there is signs of whats to come visually its just some areas look like a janitor came and cleaned up all the evidence,all the blood,all the brains from the walls and curtains. I want to walk into a building and see things that make me want to turn and leave. I want my toon to be revolted by smells and gases coming from rooms that havn't been opened in months,i mean could you imagine going into a grocery store/hospital after something like this ugh the smell and fluids yuck. thanks for the ideas and feedback I like that othe folks want the same thing. patience is key in this game as well as in the development so heres hoping we all stay on our toes and not yearn for to much at the moment.
