Bad luck, wipes and hackers in DayZ

Recommended Posts

If this software is in alpha, why all the focus on performance improvements? Shouldn't that also wait for beta?

Why all the hullabaloo about server hopping, d/c exploits (according to rocket), and non-mod item spawning? Why even bother with the wave of bans for exploiting/hacking if it doesn't matter right now?

You nonconstructive trolls need to stop hiding behind "alpha" and actually focus on making this an enjoyable game so when it finally hits beta, people will be willing to play it.

Alpha is about balancing features and making the product stable for release. If "explode entire server" is a desired feature, so be it. Otherwise, alpha is the time to remove it.

The alternative is to wait, let the hackers become more prevalent, and watch the mod die before it even hits beta.

"I didn't mean don't use the tents I meant that I don't know why people want to call one place on the map home. You get too atatched to your gear and then get all emotional when it's gone. This is an alpha so things dissapear from time to time."

Again I am not talking about setting up a kingdom, house, or some huge main camp for my character and my party. We personally had about 6 different locations with a tent or so for when we would do raids on certain areas. Or for when you were moving from place to place, you could stop in and gather supplies you may need. No one in this thread is over reacting or getting emotional.

The big kick to the balls, the final straw, whatever you wanna say, was after just setting up another tent and then going off to do a raid, in less than 24 hours a hacker nuked everyone on the server and this wiped all tents and items. That has nothing to do with a server wipe, or Alpha. That's just some asshole griefing people who are trying to just enjoy and test this game the way it should be played.
