SteenRNS 35 Posted March 5, 2014 Has something changed with zombie spawns?Yesterday i almost had a real life heart attack ,when 5 zombies attacked me in the middle of nowhere.I play extremly careful ,and always check 360 degrees even if im far out of towns.First thought it was a player charging me ,so my heart jumped a beat. Was just about to start firing my SKS ,when i noticed it was a zombie.4 more came immidiatly after the first one ,from different directions.Killed them with a fireaxe ,but man.. It was awesome ,but freaking scary.Do zombies spawn everywhere now?

drewsta 74 Posted March 5, 2014 I found 17 on a railway track in Cherno when the alpha first came out and I put that down to a glitch. Make no mistake though, it scared the bejesus outta me. Fun times.
DropBearChick 1216 Posted March 5, 2014 Are you on experimental servers? If so there is a new respawn mechanic for zombies and some of the spawns are in wilderness

gungza 29 Posted March 5, 2014 yeah also happened to me and a friend in black forest in the middle of nowhere, 7 zombies mobbed us right after a server restart so we know nobody pulled them, they spawned there, on stable.
SteenRNS 35 Posted March 5, 2014 Turn on Brain... :D someone runs thru a city and pulled them, they followed him to the woods and stopped following him ..Aha ,that may have been it :P Dont know if i was in Black Forest. It was at least the middle of nowhere. Kind of a Walking dead moment.Wish there were more of those.

Kind of a Walking dead moment.Wish there were more of those. As do I,Zombie should be as dangerous as encountering another player(if in small groups) or more dangerous (in packs or herds).Right now they are nothing but a bump in the road. Gekkonidae 270 Posted March 5, 2014 I've picked up a couple of these while running through that forest myself. I think they need more spawns like this. It really freaked me out. It may be a while before they have optimized the game for more spawns like this, but I like it. Keeps you on your toes!

Dagwood 680 Posted March 5, 2014 Looting small towns while unarmed is already a bit hectic. Running in and out of small houses to find a blunt object with 5-6 on your tail makes looting so much more fun. I can already imagine how much of a pain cherno and the surrounding cities will be to loot when zeds are present in large numbers... So exciting. I think the weak melee weapons coupled with large numbers of zeds will force under equipped survivors to team together to effectively loot these population centers. Cherno and Elektro should be swarming with zeds. That would realy create some epic scenarios. One of my first days in Standalone ,i was on top of one of the lower bulding blocks looking down on the streets bellow.Someone lying dead in the street while two others were fighting 4-5 zombies.I had an M4 at the time ,but i decided i would just watch.A realy cool experience..
