Ruger (DayZ) 0 Posted March 4, 2014 So last night after playing on an experimental server for a bit I decided to switch back over to normal. After opting out of the experimental branch I was prompted to download an update to play again on stable as I always have been. After the update is done downloading a message comes up saying something along the lines of "unable to update dayz, disk write error". I have verified my game cache and reinstalled the patches and the game itself. I am now unable to play the game at all, stable or experimental. I'm not sure if this is a problem with DayZ or Steam but it is very frustrating to not be able to play a game you have paid for, more so when you've spent your whole day off trying to find a solution that seems not to exist. MartinD (DayZ) 86 Posted March 4, 2014 May well be your hard drive dude, check it for errors and bad sectors. This used to happen to me on my iMac before the HDD failed.
