Rivers, streams and water sources.

Recommended Posts

Right now the best place to get water are water pumps and ponds. But I haven't seen that much water supplies up North. Here is my suggestion.

Make a river that flows through Chernarus back into sea, it would split into smaller streams on it's way. That way it would be easy to set up a camp (once it's implemented,) by the side of a stream or a river. That's what I would do in an apocalypse, infinite water, eh?

Another thing, rivers would force the player to cross water areas, so bridges would become great ambush spots.

umm there are little streams and ponds everywhere, even up north - at the moment I get most of my water from streams or ponds because they are easier to find and water purification isn't an issue yet. explore more... just sayin.

Yah, they're not rivers, they're ditches.

I don't think the game even has a texture for flowing water. But it would be nice to add at least one river somewhere in Chernarus, for water and for just sitting there and relaxing while listening to the water flowing.

Bohemia has the "raw material", it shouldn't be that hard to paste it into the current engine. Maybe it won't look as pretty as in the video, but if they can implement physics I'm sure they can add water, too.

I personally would love to see at least on medium size river...

I'm pretty sure that flowing water texture isn't that hard to make. but making a rapids with different water levels I can see being a challenge.

I gotta tell you, that water looks amazing :3

But on the other side, if there were a lot of rivers etc. people with shitty ass PC's couldn't play the game. That's why we can't have nice things.

Propably.

However, there where "scrolling" water textures more then 10 years ago in Half-Life... the waves at the coast are animated, too... I have complete faith in Senchi, I'm sure he'll surprise us with some pretty lakes and rivers at some point! :D
