I just reached the NE airstrip about 10 minutes ago and I just found some good weapons and equipment. It made me wonder however, since the airstrip is about the same as the one in Balota, do the items spawned there are in general of better quality than in Balota? It would make sense, considering the time you must invest just to get there. The same goes for the NW airfield, except for the barracks, are items there supposed to be of the same quality as the other airfields, even though it's all the way to the north and takes forever to get to?

All of the airfield hangars/ATC towers have the same chance to spawn the same items.

NW has more hangers so you are more likely to find something good for that reason alone. As for Balota and NE I really don't think there's a difference in the percentages of what spawns. You could argue that the NE is safer because it's further north and away from player spawn points, but I've died far more times at the NE airfield than Balota.

So much so that I avoid the NE airfield as much as possible.

Yep. All firehouses have the same spot rate. All supermarkets have the same spawnrate as well.

NW Airfield has Barracks. Hangars, Firestation and Tower are the same like the other Airstrips, but Barracks only exists at the NW Airfield and can spawn higher valuable loot.
