Zjasuu 337 Posted March 3, 2014 how about adding jackets for all the hunter pants? Yea I'd like to have them too, but if there were flecktarn clothing that's the only thing I would wear.
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted March 3, 2014 I dont like it, too much militarisation.Im a survivor not a soldier. Stuff like this will kill me quicker. But each to his own.
StoutAle 69 Posted March 3, 2014 Hell, yes. I don't want to see a clone wars over on Balota. Lots of people going for the TTsKO set up, ballistic helmet and gas mask combo. Got tired of that and ditched the gas mask and ballistic helmet for an olive cap and designer COOL glasses. As soon as the game patches with the new content this Wednesday, I'm going to spray my SKS green and get the TTsKO boonie. A big reason people wear the same gear is it's advantages. TTsKO gives more space to put stuff. Forget the look, gas mask gives your face some covering easier to hide then a white face (assuming your character is) and the ballistic helmet protects you best. When you set up a game where some gear is simply superior then other gear with no reasonable options people will look cookie cutter happens in every game. Give more options that are reasonably an option that doesn't give away a tactical advantage and people might use them. Oh, yes I am sure they will add more gear of course I'm just saying the obvious reason of the cookie cutter looks currently.
ColdHeat 59 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Cherno(+) is believed to be set in some Czech / eastern europe part which doesn´t exactly support the existence of german military gear. Actually it makes much more sense than to see american camo & gear like the M4 in the game. As you said it's a european scenario. If Chernarus would have been one of the first countries that was infested by the zombie plague - which is almost the only scenario that explains gear from foreign armies in this country - then it's more logical that EU memberstates helped and sent troops rather than the US. Honestly I don´t really see a big difference between flecktarn and ttsko. In the end you´re as visible as everyone else when running around in cities and other non-forest areas. Variety rocks. Since we already have hats in different camos it would only make sense to implement fitting pants and jackets as well. You find camo scemes everywhere in the net and adjusting them to an existing model ain't exactly horribly time consuming. Yet most of all I would love to see a parka implemented. Katana67 2907 Posted May 28, 2014 Oh lord. More people saying what can't be included in the game based upon their misguided preconceptions of where DayZ is set (i.e. a fictional land) and what DayZ is (i.e. a work of fiction, a fiction which includes a heavy international/NATO/UN presence). More camos please, of all types, not just the ones I arbitrarily "feel fit the setting." Flecktarn is a good start.
BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted May 29, 2014 Anyone know why those Gorka pants have that diaper shaped non-camouflage area around the crotch? Why don't they camouflage the crotch? Personally I would want my crotch to be camouflaged, in fact I wouldn't mind the crotch to be more camouflaged than my legs.
ZomboWTF 527 Posted May 29, 2014 So cool :rolleyes:why are you posting a picture of a tr.... oh as for that matter, can't wait until we can build ourselves improvised camo
gemellus 77 Posted May 29, 2014 Cherno(+) is believed to be set in some Czech / eastern europe part which doesn´t exactly support the existence of german military gear. Yeah, its not like the nationalist NAPA guerillas heavily featured in ARMA 2 used flecktarn amongst other military camo. Oh wait.
falcon1439 20 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) It all depends on how the zombies were fought. If there was an international response there, we could feasibly see uniforms and equipment from armed forces all over the world. EDIT: Basically justifying my want for British gear in the game, for no reason at all B) Edited May 30, 2014 by falcon1439
Katana67 2907 Posted May 31, 2014 It all depends on how the zombies were fought. If there was an international response there, we could feasibly see uniforms and equipment from armed forces all over the world. See my signature. Even if there was no international response to the outbreak itself, Chernarus was host to a massive international intervention prior to the outbreak. If they can have G3s, AR-15s, EOTechs, and Sterling SMGs in Czech gun shops... I'm sure that getting Flecktarn (a commonly emulated camo pattern, not just used by Germany) wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.
hombrecz 832 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) Good news lads, Flecktarn german camo, is almost the most common in Czech army shops, so it should be added no matter what :-D. Anyway I'd like to have NATO gear mostly from heli crashes or from some very far north-west areas of the map (they could add NATO outpost there). Certainly not from Balota barracks or NEA O_o.
