So i was at the NEAF with my friend on a 4-5 player server and i hear a gunshot in the distance whilst i was on top of the air control tower, so i climbed down the ladders and proceeded down the stairs to which it said you are dead, my body was found by my friend about 20 metres away in a field. And all of my gear ruined. what the hell happened to me? lol

Lag fall/push? - had this happen to me on a 2nd story building, no operable doors, somehow was thrown pushed through a wall or 2 onto a street

Another player saw you on his screen, in a different location than you actually were on your screen. The place he saw/shot you was probably on the field where your body was. The player who shot you was desyncing badly.

I often see corpses that slide across the floor or ground and pass right through walls.

Some kind of glitch or desync. makes it very difficult to loot them.

 

Anyway, sounds like you got one-shot'd to the head and your corpse slid through the wall.

You never hear the shot that kills you. As you come down the stairs you can be shot through either window.
