The purpose of raised and lowered stance is actually as you say. Players should see if you are threat or not. We wanted to bring consistency with other weapons (guns).

 

I love that.

And that was what I heard in the Q&A stream and why I was confused since it was suddenly a "known bug" in the Announcement...but good to hear that "the actual bug is after you click left mouse button you won't get to the rised pose, spacebar is needed. " :)

 

There is also a chance we enable attacking from lowered stance if players will demand it, but then again raised stance will loose its purpose.

Don't listen to them. Ever. Once you start you will have to continue and...oh no...I see it coming... *doomsayer mode activated* a SafeZone where attacking is disabled by the server....shooting restrictions to lower KoS....a morality system...skill trees with skillpoints that the player puts in at character creation...a fast travel system....a health bar...and infected Apes...

 

Wait, that last one sounded great. APes, broken out of the zoo in Cherno, roaming the woods now...jump you from the trees, steal your stuff, throw feces at you and bite you afterwards in the head...
