Screams, shouts, grunts, and other stupid human noises.

Recommended Posts

There are a lot of sounds in dayz.  If you go into electro and listen you will hear the sounds of gunshots, players trying to be friendly, zombie argo, all sorts of things.  But I think it would be interesting if you could hear screams of pain or death maybe.  If someone gets shot or their hand gets hatched off its likely they are going to make some noise.

Here are some ways this could help the game.

1.  A scream of pain lets you know someone is wounded nearby.  Gives you a chance to help or take advantage of them depending on your play-style.  Maybe they are already dead by the time you arrive.

2.  More immersion.  Reminds you the world is filled with more people then you that live and die on a daily basis in the terribly brutal world of dayz.

3.  I am sure bandits will find some sick use for this.  Maybe putting a hostage in pain in the hopes of luring someone out.

4.  Helps you know if you hit someone with your gunshot or not.  You could hear his character grunt in pain if you hit him.

Now obviously I am not only taking about full on screams of agony.  A simple grunt of pain when you get shot will also do.  Maybe even nothing at all, if someone gets shot all of a sudden they might just go into shock and not notice the pain for a while.

We can hear way more than we should atm.

They would just become more background noise after a short while.

I always thought the screams in Namalsk were annoying.

I like this idea and would even like to see some limitations due to pain. Because I can't imagine, that you sprint away silent, a few seconds, after you bandaged the new hole in your stomach.

You used to make noises when you got hurt back a month ago or so.

Remember?

"Uuuhhh!"

"Oh fuck that hurts!"

and one or two others I think, it's been awhile.

When it happened you would make a noise every 5 min. or so and people could hear you if they were near you

unless you used alcohol tincture or antibiotics to fix it.

Yes it said you were "Sick" while it was fixing you but it still worked.

You still got messages telling you that

"your wounds are looking cleaner"

every few mins until it said

"your wounds are now clean"

What happened to that mechanic?

I think it got removed because people were complaining about it saying you were sick everytime you used tincture or AB.

I hope it gets implemented again when sicknesses are properly working and put in game.

But yeah, number 1. was in game at one point.

He wouldn't be screaming every five minutes only at the moment of injury.  Also those noises were quiet and you only heard them if you were nearby.  These noises you would hear atleast a block away.
