Let us all calm down

Recommended Posts

First of all, can people stop moaning about the state of the zombies at the moment? The game is a survival horror and no matter how good AI gets, nothing with replace, or come near to replicating the tension and horror of other human characters. That is what makes DayZ brilliant in my opinion. Playing DayZ for the zombies is like going to McDonalds for the staff.

Secondly, on the news that Dean 'Rocket' Hall is leaving DayZ at the end of the year, like everyone, I'm upset, but I'm not angry and it's certainly not going to stop me playing DayZ. I am extremely grateful for what Dean has created, my favorite gaming experiences have all happened in dayz (be it the Mod or standalone), some hilarious, some horrible. Rocket is heading back to New Zealand at the turn of the year, which leaves him just over nine months to continue the development of DayZ, and I know a lot of people have criticized the 'slow' development of the game in its first quarter of alpha release. These things take time, so just be patient. But seriously, Rocket is the visionary behind the entire project, he has poured his mind and imagination into the project and I'm certain the team of highly skilled developers at BI are bit-by-bit implementing the best of these ideas. I highly doubt he would announce to leave the project if he wasn't sure that the team were working well and implementing his ideas correctly and efficiently.

Just my thoughts, I wish Dean well in what ever he does in the future, I am sure it will be good. Plus, we're getting bow and arrows soon, so be optimistic!

Yes. As long as the game isn't left unfinished, and doesn't instantly turn into CoDZ without Dean's input, we all should be happy. And guess what, it most likely won't! Win!
