Goodbye Dayz

Recommended Posts

Goodbye!

It has been a lovely time with you, but i see nothing more than getting hurt over and over again.
Not that you are not challenging enough, it's simply  your residents are not able to play on a human level.

Why do I have to get shot, when I wave at somebody and loud and understandable  say "Friendly! Hello!"?
They are the reason why it does not even make fun anymore to spend time with you.
I know, it's not your fault, but as long as this does not change we have to split.

I realy hope in an real apocalyptic scenario, the people come to value life more. And that there are much less guns.

So... Goodbye!

See you when you got privat hives. Otherwise there will be no future for us.

with love
Miles

Thanks for your feedback so far.

And this will kill the entire X factor of the game. If all the non-KOS'ers jump off to private servers, public hives will just be one giant non-stop battlegrounds where the "is this guy cool?" will be gone, because only KOS players will remain there.

You just have to face the fact that not every player is into pvp and/or kos. So deal with it if all your innocent victims will leave the public stage and keep playing on private servers. If any will ever added. I'm confident they will be added and I'm looking forward to.

I've made a TON of friends on Steam from random interactions and team ups in this game. You just have to approach people right, and avoid groups of geared people.

This is nonsense as there is no right way to approach people. Those, who want to kill you, will do so anyway. No matter whether you run into them, stand around somewhere (not even looking at the killer) or simply crawl on the street cause you have broken legs.

If their intention is to kill you for fun (not for gear or food), they will do so. No matter how many times you try to approach 'right', be assured they will kill you without a warning if that's their kind of gameplay.

I also love how people try to justify that KOS and PVP are mutually exclusive, as though all gun fights HAVE to be about people approaching one another, talking things out and then agreeing to a gun fight. No.

If you hint to my statement regarding roleplay or testing weapons you should keep in mind that gaming, roleplay and  alphatesting are three complete different worlds. (At least in my opinion.)

I am absolutely fine with pvp. But I am not fine with killing on sight. If you just want to press your left mousebutton and see someone die, why don't you play Moorhuhn?

If you're fully kitted out and just running from one airbase to the next, I'm going to assume you are dangerously. If there are 3 or more of you, I will set up an ambush so long as I'm confident I can survive it.

This is nonsense as well. Not every armed person is dangerous. Might be dangerous, of course.

From just having a look at players gear you can absolutely not deduce their intentions. Or do you think everybody, carrying a defibrilator is a medic and going to heal/revive only? Everyone holding a rifle is a killer? Come on... that kind of explanation is way too cheap.

Now KOS'ing Bambis on the coast is a different thing. That's simply meta gaming to shoot at defenseless players in an attempt to make people rage quit, and it's a scumbag thing to do.

At least we agree with that point :)

Sorry for calling some or your answers nonsense. No intention to fight you but just my opinon, as explained with each quote.

If you like, we can take this discussion between you and me to P.M.

So we don't bother other guys.

Cheers.

Fuck friendlies, and fuck your "friendly" tactics and shit.

I DO team up with unknown people. Just not when they run towards me screaming "FRIENDLY".

I team up with people who make sense in the game like when I was entering Elektro and I encounter this guy who says "Are you going to kill me?", I respond "Probably not", and we both teamed up and looted Elektro.

What a stupid thing for him to say, just shows he was scared and ready to die, someone saying Friendly is confident and probably COULD kill you but is Choosing to try and give you a chance to not be killed, the guy who said 'are you going to kill me' was just a coward ready to die.

Your post doesn't make sense and I think your an idiot.

haha oh man what a n00b   ^_^...                               ALPHAAAAAA

When the zombies are introduced properly.. then everyone wont be killing each other as much because there will be a common threat and more cooperation will be needed

No, no they won;'t. Try breaking point which has hordes of like 50 -100 zombies in towns. People KOS on every game they can. There are so many Trolls and bad players on Day Z. More zombies will help but what we really need is something like a revolution of gamers changing their ATTITUDES From (i got shot so many times Im going to be a bandit now) To I am going to help be friendly and spread a good community to Counteract the bad manners and trolling I have encoutered.

I believe in Karma

Well, it's a forum and we can discuss and others might chime in with good points... or call us faggots. It's the Internet, you can't always tell.

The only point I want to address is when you said that some people just aren't into PvP and that's why they should have private servers where people can PVE.

My issue is that removing this removing a large core component to the game. It'd be like people demanding that the Battlefield series remove guns because guns are awful things. As I've posted on other threads, private hives do divide up the community and eventually public hives turn to crap because now all the people who are civil jump off to their carebear servers because the apocalypse was "too hard".

Believe me, when they introduce far more to do and teamwork becomes more essential, more people will be inclined to work together. It won't eliminate KOS snipers by any means, but it will at least reduce it as there will be a lot more survival difficulties that won't enable you to just camp on a roof for hours without succumbing to exposure, thirst, hunger and respawning zombies climbing to your position.

You might still have to deal with betrayals, but that would be gone in a non-PVP server. That paranoia will be gone because if that player does shoot you in the back, he'll just be banned and the admin might reset you back to what you had.

I also don't like the idea of private servers in this type of game because admins always seem to develop a god complex and become abusive.
