Only new game that runs 4K flawless.

Recommended Posts

I played DayZ for the first time with my new rig. I had two 680s before and now i switched to a Titan which i got cheap. I can tell you that it doesn't matter if you play in 1440p (my native res) or 3840x2160 (4K).

1440p = 39 FPS

2160p = 32 FPS

Its either unplayable, but i go with the eye candy through downsampling. The game looks a lot fucking better (!!!)

Thats what i encountered without CPU oc (im at 3,5 right now and i can reach 5.0 easily when my new CPU cooler arrives, i got a cherry picked 2700k).

Dean, go for some optimization and i'll be happy if i can get 60 FPS

I'll see your 5GHz and raise you 200MHz. (See my signature.)

Also, how do you intend to get a "cherry picked" 2700K? It's kind of random when you order it. My 2600K is D-Stepping, it's so beast. :3

Here in germany we can return products counting 30 days from the shipping. I had to test three CPUs till i got my dream CPU (way ago, 2012). I won't go higher with my clocks even my cpu needs 1,38V for 5 GHz. I had a huge watercooling loop with my 680s. But after my mainboard burned down because i fucked something up at the installation of my HW in my red harbinger desk i just sold all that stuff because its such a huge frickle everytime you change something. Im testing a corsair h100i soon, im waiting till it arrives.

30 FPS is playable. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. It is.

30 FPS is playable, but atleast i call it unplayable because i don't own a PC to play on a console framerate. Imagine playing CS or Battlefield with 30 FPS.

well ..it is not entirely about ghz is it, or we all would be running with amd... however, i think performance is cpu dependent. i use the 3930k @ 4.5 and it seems my ares 2 (number 181) is idling while i could cook meat on the cpu radiator! @ 1080p with all the eye candy maxed out i would estimate my fps in towns to 25-35 and in the woods to 55-75.

Newflash: You won't get 60 FPS in the cities. At any setting.

There is almost no difference between 150 fps and 30 fps as long as its stable and doesn't drop.

Meanwhile I'm still trying to figure out why I get as low as 18 FPS in some towns, I hope you don't run in to this issue OP.

Should've gone to Specsavers.

lmfao.

back in the days, 30fps on CS versus 99fps was a huge, HUGE disadvantage

your eyes won't recognize the difference, right.

Where are you getting this stuff? "almost no difference" between 30 fps and 150 fps?  You must be trolling...

I don't like it, not only in terms of desktop space but after seeing 1440p gaming I just knew I had to have it. The good news is that I didn't have to spend £3k either. :D

4k downsampled to 1080p looks very crisp and detailed with almost zero jaggies. Granted Titans were silly money but this game doesn't need a 3 million euro PC to pull 4k res, mine cost less than 1k and can do it at about the same fps...

Where do you buy pc parts? Because mine is under 1000 and I only got r9280x and fx6530. Got mine from "Dabs".

Mainly Scan's Today Only page. CPU+Mobo+RAM was a Super-Saver bundle ages ago, got the 780 Gaming when it was ~£320, case was from ebay (saved about £50 on that).

I absolutely love Scan, I also tend to do plenty of business with Ebuyer and OcUK too depending on what deals are on or what sort of delivery I need.

Mkay... I must learn shopping then. The thing is here in Ireland we only have cows, sheep and farmers only... and Dabs. Will buy from UK next time.
