Are bushes bugged?

Are bushes currently bugged in the SA? Or am I just using them wrong? I'm assuming they block line of sight, but I'm having trouble losing even the common zombie by going behind a bush. For example, I run from a zombie, circle a copse of pine trees to break my line of movement and get in behind a bush, but the zombie zeroes in on me behind the bush as if it can still see me and stumbles right through the bush and attacks, and even if I try circling the bush to keep it between me and the z it will attack me from within the bush.

 

Any explanation to this?

Ah its not the bush thats bugged its the zeds at times they can see you through a building at huge range .. Others you can pretty much walk straight to there face slap them step back and wait for them to react lol...

SoulFirez is totally right on this one: It's a Zombie bug and before you ask: It is not sure, when it will be fixed since its part of a bigger problem:

The AI (which is the old one from the Mod, because the new one, on which is worked all the time, is not implemented yet)

And part of this, is a bug that causes a free wallhack for all zombies (Because: Old AI+new code+new models): Most objects (like bushes, walls etc.)  just don't exist for them - that's why the line of sight isn't blocked by anything and why they can walk through nearly everything including walls. But for some reason they are smart enough to avoid the "Evil Ladders Of Death" [ Bohemia Interactive]...

A nice example would be the zed who aggroed me yesterday.

 

I was sneaking through town, seeing a zed with his back towards me. And hes roughly 25m away.

He made noices and changed his posture, so I thought he had seen or heard another player.

 

So I stood perfectly still and waited to see what the next move from the zed, would be.

 

It took 15-20seks, then he ran 10m forward, stood still. And then turned around and charged me.

 

 

 

 

 

As previous ^ has said already. They have very weird senses of sight and hearing. And will be better in time. But are completely broken atm.

Im just glad they havent implemented more zeds, than there is currently. It would be annoying to aggro any zeds just by being close. (20-50m)

I've found that some of the smaller ones continue to make noise even after you have stopped moving in them.

SPEAKING OF ZOMBIE AI and COMBAT:  I HAVE A QUESTION

 

I have made an observation from recent play on the experimental branch since the respawn was implemented and melee stances were tweaked in version 37.  I can shoot a zed with an un-silenced firearm and not aggro zombies in a town, but if I engage one with a fire ax zeds come from all over.  

 

Am I imagining things or have you all noticed something similar?  Seems like swings or impacts from a fire ax aggros zombies like a gunshot should.

Oh hell i havent tried the new experimental dont tell me they have reverted to old arma AI code which basicly made them linked ( eg kill one as stealthy as anything instantly informs any grouped with it where you were etc without any line of sight or hearing)

 

I was so looking forward to it being pushed to stable i hope thats not it...
