zipain 0 Posted February 23, 2014 Pretty much what topic says, I am very new to Dayz Standalone and I have not played the arma mod. So question is as it stands, is there like a golden graphic setup to have best possible view to spot other people? or something that just increase the chance/makes it easyer to spot people? I seem to always get spotted but not the other way around :/

Ghostflux 100 Posted February 23, 2014 Spotting doesn't rely on tweaking your graphics, Spotting people before they spot you is by simply making sure that you take your time to conceal yourself and constantly look around. Scan for movement, not for colours. That way you can check for enemies even outside of your focus.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted February 23, 2014 Maybe you should run slower and use concealment or not run around so careless like you seem to do if you always get spotted or you should just stay out of fights if all you do is die. You can still oversee a lot of things even with a high end rig and max settings. In the end it always depends on the player.
Knock (DayZ) 111 Posted February 23, 2014 What other people have been saying, it depends on the player. Most of the time I'm the one who spots the other person. There were only a few times when I didn't know someone was around me.
Hutch (DayZ) 116 Posted February 23, 2014 Currently the "Object Detail" option under video settings will affect how far away you can see other players. Make sure it's at normal or better.Lower than normal and players past a certain distance don't render or render only partially.

If they keep tweaking to squeeze every not possible fps out of their outdated systems they won't see anything anyway. I tried what i would gain from tweaking that way and it wasn't worth mentioning but the difference in visual quality ( to the worse side ) was immense. If anyone uses NVidia experience just let the program set your details according to online profiles ( hopefully someone uses a similar system if your's is too weak ), it helps.
