irl-calibre 744 Posted February 24, 2014 you're confusing this game with battlefield, yeah we've all spent many hours in airfields without seeing anyone, it's a bit like fishing you need patience rather than server hopping, they will come to you eventually.. omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted February 24, 2014 Ran to the ATC while screaming, then looted the building nearby. Nothing.
Irish. 4886 Posted February 24, 2014 So i have read multiple times that players with gear are not on the coast or are low skilled shooting bambis. So i headed up to NWAF where "real men" (quote) are supposed to be. Over more than 1h playing i saw 2 guys on 3 different 40/40 serv. I guess there is no real men then. Might consider going back shooting some bambis ... You want a challenge? Try posting the server, and time your looking for trouble and just let the men know you'll be around the NWAF. I guarantee people will show up...
PJSleaze 111 Posted February 24, 2014 Had a fun little shootout between the ATC and the firestation tower at NWAF tonight. First time I'd seen anyone there, and I've been there just about every day this week. Masked bandit loaded with gear, too. Nice haul.
Chawktah 43 Posted February 24, 2014 I feel like your most likely to get sniped at an airfield.. Just stick to major cities and the coast. You can find plenty of bandits and others looking for a fight. Electro is my favorite, almost always people moving in or out of that area. Then go north along the coast and you have a very high % of running into hostiles. Its like what you would expect in a predator - prey situation.. All the predators hang out where the prey, or freshspawns, hang out. The NWAF is just too far out there, stick to the coast and follow behind some freshies / bait
Dunxel 17 Posted February 24, 2014 I've never seen anyone at NWAF. :(My friends hate even going up that far unless it is to get loot... ie: super rare LRS. :PI've managed to talk them into camping it for several hours on a weekend night. Even tried server hopping.Nothing.2 hours.. change server. 2 hours change server.. *friend leaves to go play BF4.* 2 hours... *They all want to leave now.*Regular server had 2 guys in ATC watching 2 different directions.. Others in Prison near by also keeping eye. Nothing. It is pretty freaking boring.NEAF is pretty popular place.. Sniper in the hills with NUMEROUS hiding spots can take for ever trying to sneak up on.But sadly tons of Sharking at NEAF and it makes it a super dangerous place to waste your character at.Bolota is also pretty good spot. Seems like most people just camp the Prison with the doors closed. Waiting for someone to open the door to gun down.
Munson_fry (DayZ) 312 Posted February 24, 2014 just head to "no pants elektro" and u will run in a lot of oposition.
finnpalm 312 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Will you please stop talking like I've claimed in this thread that KoS players are somehow less 'skilled' than regular players? That's something you've cooked up yourself. You read my post, put two and two together, made a couple of assumptions, and came up with six, and now you're arguing against a point that I never even made! You rang? :) Edited February 24, 2014 by Strawman
execpro22 128 Posted February 24, 2014 The best place I have found for some good PVP action is without a doubt Kamyshovo. If you stay up in the hills along the main road you will meet more heavily geared players than you have ever seen in your life. Me and my buddies got into literally three major gun fights in one hour and all were heavily armed guys.... Keep in mind this was while we were hidden up in the trees on the hill and not the road. We would literally bump into one group, get done with that the fight and then bump right into the next group five minutes later....
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted February 24, 2014 You stated that skilled players would not shoot if there is nothing to gain, implying that anyone who shoots first (KOS) even though there is nothing to gain is unskilled. I just thought I would dispell that myth which seems to be prevalent among most players who choose not KOS. Contrary to popular belief, KOS players actually for the most part have alot of skill due to being in alot more PVP battles than a friendly player. I'm not saying, this is true across the board, but they are definately not the mindless COD players that some people make them out to be. You've picked two words out of a whole post there to form the basis for this (once again, entirely imaginary) argument that you seem to think I'm making, no matter how many times I tell you that I agree with you that any player can be 'skilled', regardless of their playstyle. As I said already, there's a lot more to being a 'skilled' player than just being able to shoot straight, but there's no reason a KoS player can't have skills besides a good aim. And who on earth said that the word 'gain' had to be strictly material gain such as gear? Once again, that's an assumption you've made, but are dumping it at my feet as fuel for your own argument. These assumptions are yours, not mine!'Gain' in this situation could mean holding fire now to gain a better chance of a kill once the target is a little closer, making the shot easier and/or saving on ammo. It could mean gaining a chance to flank the target and catch them unawares from behind. There are thousands of situations where holding your fire rather than shooting instantly could lead to gains for a KoS player. Now, are there any more imaginary arguments you'd like me to dispel? :p
duke0095 106 Posted February 24, 2014 Not necessarily, just remove guns from Balota half the problem will be solvedit is because a spawn in just one area is too monotonous. i wouldn't say that here isn't any trouble on the airfield or airstrips but it's not that much and the main heat is at the coast area. vehicles may make players more movable but i think the coast as a hot spot will stay. a distribution of the spawnpoints all over the map with random entrances would make the whole map more livelier because you won't have these or this area where all the players spawn with equal chances to get the same loot asap. ninjaontour 123 Posted February 24, 2014 Try looking under the hangers at the NEAF or you could try to find the bush wookies in the hills overlooking cherno and electro....leave the bambis alone. We will need them for later, like when we get cars. I can't wait to see all of the road kill between berenzino and balota There are no Bush Wookiees in Standalone, lol.
