HardstylerSL 16 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Hey guys and devs, i might sound somewhat butthurt because it just happend to me and my friend and i think it is a very bad habbit from some of the playerbase.First i will tell you a short story and then my suggestion. The situation was that we (me and a friend) were looting neaf inside the cammo-building. A few minutes later we could hear footsteps and voices. We prepared ourselfes for an encounter and talked to them, we said we were armed and if they try to enter, we will shot them in selfdefense.We were talking for like 10 minutes kinda rp like and they open and closed the front door, started eating and reloading outdoors, so my friend and i had our eyes on the door.Suddenly someone came up from behind , killed/shot us unconscious ... it was one of them, cause he talked in voice that he has "killed" us and its good to enter, after calling us pussies.... -_-Sure, we could have checked the other rooms/upstairs like every 20 seconds but i don't think there should be a possibility of using serverhopping for a better positioning esp. inside of buildings. My wish/suggestion is a protection for this kind of situation. Like you can't spawn near to another player (maybe like 20m diameter). This could cause some problems for sure, cause if you log in and a player ist near your logout spot you would need to be teleported a few meters away with collision-checking (you dont want to spawn in a wall/tree whatsoever). The picture shows my idea in a badly drawn fashion. crimsonbzd 247 Posted February 23, 2014 With the new login timers, I simply suggest the moment you believe someone may attempt to Ghost, or even if they leave your sight for an extended period, to move. A person server hopping cannot keep track of your location, and if their first hop fails (because you moved, giving you the ability to regain sight on them despite their Ghosting)then the timers will essentially disable them from continuing trying to Ghost you. Nylrem 12 Posted February 23, 2014 I agree, but I think the way to fix it is by increasing the timers. If people know that they will get say 5 minutes added everytime they log out and in within say a 5 minute window they will be less likely to do it. They log out of your server, log into another and wait 5 minutes to move, then log out of that and log back to the first and have to wait 10. Who is going to want to wait 15 minutes to get the drop? Plus sometimes that fails on people, especially if you move. I ran into a guy at bolota, told him to surrender and he was sitting where I found him, so I ran up to cuff him and he logged out before I could. I moved away to watch the spot, looted a barracks moved again and saw him start running across the airfield from a different location.
