    First discount of DayZ standalone on steam

    IMHO this is outraging and a slap in the face for all day1 supporter/customers and the fanbase! Don't get me wrong, i still want to see the finished product, but i (!) feel betrayed as a fan/supporter. For me, the hype and faith is somewhat over... that was the last piece missing to make me think that BI (and Rocket) are using the DayZ franchise as some quick money-cow (wich they milk pretty hard imho). Yeah, i read the disclaimber on purchase, and yeah... i know its alpha (yadayada) ... but on purchase i just had some faith into BI/Rocket. I predict in 1 1/2 or 2 years (and some more discounts) they will release a finished product with missing content/broken content. But i hope they prove me wrong!

    This patch is littertly game breaking.

    This is imho the biggest problem in dev -> community communication. I think the dev-tracker is slow, clunky (because if you want to get som context you need to klick through like 3-5 pages of x different sites in some cases) and there is so much unrelated stuff going on. Rocket stated that he/the dev-team doesn't want a community-manager because he wants to fit this position. I mean, i'd be fine if he does... but lets look back, how much "important" informations did he gave us in the last 4 weeks? Edit : I know, that sounds whiny... but i am getting pretty much frustrated on the Dayz-SA. :(

    I spend many hours in dayz and near coast + i guess -1,5km near north loot is extremly rare (cause most stuff allready looted)... i am speaking of packed servers of course. I don't like empty/near empty servers. ;)

    Hey guy's & devs. One little request here (again)... love this patch so far, but please spread the spawn far more. I know for SURE this is not much of code and won't cause any gamebreaking bugs etc. (cause i was fooling around in the mod a bit) and i guess it will make the game with current zeds "edit: and no respawning loot" much more playable/fun. Why? "edit:" I just respawned seven times in the same spot with no loot nearby and starved! With current zeds and the oldschool "spawn on the beach" its not much fun (imo) because zed -> maybe bleed -> using t-shirt -> wont find any loot -> die -> rinse and repeat. Why not insert much more spawnpoints around the map (far from "hotspots" like airfields and stuff).No loss, only win imho (gamewise) cause you'll never know if you spawn near your corpse (what pretty much player aim for) and spawning/looting would be much more fun. ;) Edit: some stuff i missed

    Ah ok, softcore was fine for me. All what you described seems like the "reciving" is a problem of server>client communication. And guys, pretty please try to discuss outside of this thread. Lets try to not let this thread end up like the last "pending thread". Thanks in advance. :)

    Little Report here : -"Session Lost" after 15~20 Minutes (low and high-pop servers) with 3 more people. All have different ISP and no firewalls. -"Reciving" on items mouse-over for 30-40 seconds every 3-4 minutes. It only seems to happen on hardcore, regular seems fine. Maybe the hardcore-hive buggy?

  8. Any source? Just found some external (twitter) notes from yesterday? Thought they got their shit streight... ;( Edit: As mentioned earlier in this thread... Dev-Team : Please intruduce a proper source of informations on things like exp. builds/changelogs. Imho it sucks to read through reddit/twitter... yeah, dev-tracker is there, but there are soooo much of unimportant things, too.
  9. wow, don't know what to say, ... but the current exp. is a total mess imho. xD Keep rubberbanding + (new for me) got some random unconscious. Thumbs down. Yeah, its alpha... but testing isnt fun/remotly possible at the current stage imho
  10. I totaly agree with Angr, to be honest. They sure do meetings every once in a while, combine the information (what went right, what went wrong, how are things going generaly)... write this down in 3-4 sentences and post as a read only
  11. Who needs more then 10?   12. Basicly all the new stuff / identities (zeds, loot, animals later vehicles etc.) and new mechanics might push to a level where no server could handle the game anymore. It is yet pretty "expensive" in terms of hardware / bandwidht usage and imho i fear if everything is in place its gonna be impossible to get this game running with 100+ people on a server, cause everything is tested (as far as i know) only with max. 40 players. It makes a hugh difference cause more players -> more data needs to be sended/recived & worked on ; And i think the physics need to be done serverside, try imagin a item is getting moved by a player and 10 other player "look" at it, so the data is getting hugh ... now think about elektro , maybe 50 players in it, all manipulating the world (items etc.) ... guess no server could handle it, unless they really rework the whole stuff. OR they raise the playercap now and look if everything is working as intended with 100+ players on a server. EDIT : I dont think anyone will directly be affected by this scenario, but i longterm the game isnt getting to a point where it should be (more players/features) but as i wrote in my first post, it will suck either way : features might get deleted , maxplayers staying on 40 or developement is going to be delayed pretty much.

Well, this post is dedicated to my post on page 20ish ; 2h playtime, massive problems,bandwidth usage has been greatly increased + no respond from dev side. ;( To be honest, i know its alpha and i know many people working on this game (and not everyone on bugfixig etc.) but please devs, get your things together... i have posted bout 40 bugs (non-game-breaking / optical most the time) on your system, i am testing the game as much as possible (cause got no hand on server-software) but f*****king please read my post on page 20 ; all your work is going to break later on if you dont consider some major featuers! Greets and btw, love the game so far!
