How to spot new servers or create some of my own?

Hey Survivors!

 

Is there a possibility on how to see whether I join a new server or an old one? In the videos I have seen, they said that they saw, that this is a new server and headed directly e.g. the airstrip for the new spawned loot. How did they know, they joined a new server?

Maybe its their server? Maybe they were just on the server and it restarted? Maybe its sorcery?

Server restarts usually happen within four hours, depending on server. So if you have time, play the same server and next restart you have a head start at fresh loot.

From what I've noticed server restart happens at the top of an hour. 0800, 1200, 1400... So if you find a server at 1259 server time, you know minimum it's been up for an hour.
