Psyl3nt 125 Posted February 22, 2014 I was wondering if it had been considered yet to make perishable items go 'mouldy' if you get them wet, for instance if you are running through the rain and have bags of rice in your backpack then it gets mouldy after a while and would make you sick of you consumed it. Other things could be affected by the rain also, maybe even have it so you have to have the item / food out of the backpack for it to get wet, because I guess it's stands to reason some backpacks would be waterproof. Maybe if you use the compass in the rain it goes rusty and you have trouble seeing the markings, so if it's raining and you want to eat rice or use things like the compass you would have to find cover / go inside a building. just a thought, wondering what others think. IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted February 22, 2014 Rice doesn't simply absorb water, so mold would be a possible problem. If it did you could 'cook' rice by leaving a pot of it out on a humid day or by simply pouring water into a bag of rice, you can't. I believe items that get wet will have different conditions on them as the game progresses, IE jumping into a river or lake with your flashlight on it'll ruin the flashlight and battery. If you get your radio wet while it's turned off you'll have to wait for it to dry it to turn it on again without it shorting out and ruining itself. Sealed things shouldn't be too affected, IE putting items in protector case (I know of one brand called OtterBox in real life and is waterproof) will protect them from getting wet. Putting things in a pack should protect them slightly, IE a Damp backpack won't have any effect on the items inside, a wet backpack might have some items be damp, and a soaking backpack will have wet items, so on and so fourth. mjeon21 20 Posted February 22, 2014 I would imagine insects of all sorts would have crawled around all the soda cans and rice... Yum!

You don't have to clarify its inaccuracy, again it was a joke.
weedmasta 784 Posted February 22, 2014 Rice doesn't simply absorb water... Rice absorbs water, it just takes longer if it is cold, so there goes that statement.
