Black Dynamite 75 Posted February 21, 2014 You do have to be seen to be killed on sight. Lesson learned I suppose.
guppy22143 1081 Posted February 22, 2014 You must be in sight to be killed on sight. Don't trust everyone you see, and if you are going to kill, get a clear advantage. Take the high ground or where more cover/concealment is available. Take your time and make good shots. Zigzag when you move and stay out of site.
savini 587 Posted February 22, 2014 Tis a violent land, this Chernarus. Try not to let it get you too down. It's annoying as all hell, and I've had my share of rage quits...but I always come back. It's good to be careful, but sometimes someone just gets the drop on you and you can't do anything about that except try to fight back and survive. I'd say try not to get attached to your gear. I travel pretty light myself, carrying only a revolver. Just remember. There are a lot of assholes out there, but there are a few decent guys as well. I've made some good pals with some of the other friendlies I've encountered. We stay friendly, but we're not above killing anyone who means us or any helpless bambi harm. It's not an easy playstyle, but it certainly is fun. Good luck, but most importantly...try to remember to have fun.

Zoridium JackL 16 Posted February 22, 2014 yeah, some people are dicks, but hey, there are still some of us out there that are just happy to chill and share what we got.

harley001 315 Posted February 22, 2014 You break rule number 1. NEVER TRUST ANYONE. This doesn't mean kill everyone you meet. It just means be prepared to do it. Take caution. When starting a conversation or when meeting with a unknown player always have the upper hand. Never let your guard down. "Be Polite, Be efficient, Have a plan to kill everyone you meet" -US marines motto during Iraq and Afghanistan. (no sniper did not invent it. He just made it a meme!) Apply These basic rules you and may just survive dayz!
BenBrood 0 Posted February 22, 2014 Try and see if you can get any of your friends into the game so you aren't alone as much. I actually play with 6 other people and we move in a group or in 2 small groups. No one really messes with us when they see 7 people running through a field with m4's and snipers. Not saying don't play alone, I enjoy the scouting of buildings and some solo play. But be very careful when you are alone and see if anyone you know outside the game plays or has been interested. Tricky_Vic 25 Posted February 22, 2014 The way I see it, the journey is more important than the destination. It's a good way to keep your cool for a game like this.
comikz 218 Posted February 22, 2014 In a game such as DayZ SA, be prepared to die A LOT, be it by other players or the worst of them all.....LADDERS!!! But in all seriousness, Bandits aren't worth getting riled up about, they make this game interesting, and interactions more exciting.I don't support people who just KoS, but I'm not about to tell them they can't, just as much as they can't tell me that my style of play is wrong too. Although I wish the Bandits/KoS players would make it a little bit more interesting of an event than simply shooting and then moving on.
MetapoliC 263 Posted February 22, 2014 If you are already upset by the first bandits, how upset will you be when you will get killed by stupid "heroes" which think you are a bandit...
Knifeguy 17 Posted February 22, 2014 I was overwatch for our last lives. While my friends looted, I was up on a hill keeping tabs of everything around. I was well hidden while doing it, so the two guys who came up near me had no idea I was there. I only saw one at the time, and he had an M4 taking pot shots at the guys looting a little distance away. They only got grazed and took cover. I spotted the shooter, a well armed and geared guy, and nailed him in the face with a sniper shot. I was a bit foolish and let myself get exposed, so the second guy I didn't see emptied a mag into me. Meanwhile my friends in town got jumpy, startled each other, and blew each other away.... I have not even shot at a single person.I am so sad.Hail fellow survivor!Man, I feel your pain. And this has happened to me numerous times. Until one day, I has an epiphany! POOF! Just like that. It's not the bad old bandit's fault you/I die. I'm being serious. What I realized was that every time I died I had made some sort of mistake. I used to be like "FN bandit'! Stupid, nervous, twitchy Bambie"! But no. That is incorrect. What I started to do was to write down what I did wrong when an other player killed me. Here is an example of my list. 1. Running down the main road. 2. Letting my guard down after an other player tells me they are friendly.3. Not watching my 6 while running, or hiding. 4. Not flanking a town/city and inspecting it before entering.5. panicking while in a gun fight and forgetting to reload?! These are the most recent, after realizing my folly. I write down my mistakes now, study them, commit them to memory. I can honestly say, I die a lot less, and have actually got the upper hand on a few players, who I tell to drop it or die. Funny how often people dont listen. What I'm saying is, next time you die, see if you did something wrong. If not, that was a fair death. But be honest with yourself, was it your fault? Did you run through the main street while in electro?
ld-airgrafix 403 Posted February 27, 2014 I dont get players who say "i dont shoot first" so how exactly do you survive in this game? I mean if the other player shoots first or even punches u first, its game over for you.

This passes down my legacy when I die, and allows my assailant (or person who discovers my body) to determine if the kill was just. :D
agentneo 337 Posted February 27, 2014 Hi buddy and anyone else who is struggling there. I also hate bandits and support the Trusted Medics of Wasteland and other friendly groups.I never shoot on sight without trying to communicate and engage as a friendly. Just wondered if you would like to check out our friendly group, TalkGeek, we have a weekly gathering on Thursday / Sunday evenings 7pm-10pm . PM me if you would like to come and play with a few other likeminded players.
