Relog timer has to be reworked

Hey.

 

First of i would like to make it clear, that i am for a log in timer solution. The problem is the current iteration is as punishing for legit players as it is for unlegit players, which in my mind is a very big no no.

 

I suggest that to lessen the punishment to legit players, they should remove it entirely unless you are doing some very exact things Like:

 

Ghosting: If you logout of a server, and then into another, you should be blocked out of the first server for a set time period.

 

Loot hopping: If you switch servers X amount of time within a timeframe you get a timer.

 

As is is now, as a legit player, i feel that i am being punished for wanting to play. With this game being in Alpha, server crashed, unstable servers, abusive admins, and a lot more, is all contributing to a lot of legit server hopping. Yet people caught in this landslide is punished with 200+ second timers.

 

 

TL:DR: If your solution to exploits punished the legit players equally with the unlegit then you made a mistake!

But it doesn't punish equally. It punishes those wanting to hop from server to server considerably more.

 

Do back-to-back disconnects happen, thereby punishing the innocent? Sometimes.

as for the goose so for the gander.  If they make this system too complex we will have a mountain of bugs, it is small price to pay to have a little inconveniance knowing that it makes the game fairer.  I'm not saying that the system is perfect or it doesn't need improving, I'm saying that making it more complex will introduce new problems and exploits.  They need to keep it simple and if it punishes legit players then fine, I can live with that, it is a sacrifice I'm willing to make in the interest of fair play.

Nope, I think the only time it shouldn't activate is if you immediately re-join the same server you where on. But I think it works just fine right now.

I might not have made this point clear enough.

I am for the solution, but think the current state of the game makes this solution punish us all equally. 

 

When they get the game stable, i am all for it, because my playstyle would rarely if ever run into a timer issue :)

 

But currently, just because of this timer, finding a server is a hellish thing, mainly because of the instant kick "private" servers, or the ones where admins are restarting for loot frenzies.

 

Postpone the timr imo

Look, it frustrates me too. I have a new baby and have to dc without notice many times per day.. i usually get timers when I come right back to play. It sucks. But its better than the alternative of having people just disappear all the time on you. Its not as bad when you get used to it. Disconnects outside of your control can be a pain too.. and I would hate to be that guy who has bad internet trying to play this game. 

 

But rules come into play when people decide that they do not need to follow a set standard and want to find some way of gaining an advantage on others. 

 

Just like IRL.

No, use proper servers, BE enables and add them to you favorite's, if you find one you like look in your history and find it again, once you have a favourite's list nicely filled out this will become a non-issue.
