rinaun 26 Posted June 24, 2012 Hi rocket,I know you are working your hardest to fix things, but is there any chance that you could stop and get us a working build without focusing on adding new items or mechanics? I literally just spawned in three different times and died to either breaking my bones over amazingly trivial shit, hits through walls, and supersonic zombies when I have nothing to defend myself. The game clearly is getting buggier and buggier as you add things, and people are noticing it/starting to get tired. If you cannot get us a working build, can you at least tell me your stance on private dayz servers? I have a few friends hosting private dayz games now due to the amount of bugs in the current build. Unless you fix some of the more serious issues I can't personally see wanting to play 1.7.X.X when I have a 1.6.9 server with saves and 50 slots that works 99% correct.P.S. Can you clarify on how much money/where the money goes for server hosting? I do recall you collected money (or someone did) for hosting these servers, yet I thought you mentioned in the dayz SP fiasco that you had not earned a dime from this mod. Just curious. mrperson666 0 Posted June 24, 2012 Well, you know, it's the standard thing, it's an alpha.I can kinda sympathize though. I'm running out of reasons to play 1.7.1.5, too many broken bones and deaths due to zombies hitting me through walls or floors. Tired of building a character up for an hour only to have it die from something stupid and beyond my control, so might give it a rest until the next update hopefully cleans things up a bit. jacknapier2099 (DayZ) 2 Posted June 27, 2012 I agree I got stuck in a door way while being punched through a wall broke all my bones died instantly 11k+ health armed to the teeth . I have been playing 1.6.9 as well on private server (lan in my house) and its alot less trouble even though zombies have no LOS and no melee.
Survivor-Kyle 148 Posted June 27, 2012 I like 1.7.1.5 a great deal. Never broken a bone, never been glitch killed, only once have I had a crazy transdimensional zombie get me through a wall. And I get to play with other people, which a private server does not offer, and IMO is a big part of the DayZ experience.
aphex187 52 Posted June 27, 2012 Not being rude bud but if you have spawned 3 times and you have had those occurrences each time then it must be you and not the game...
nacrom 82 Posted June 27, 2012 I've been having a good time with 1.7.1.5 as well. I haven't had an issue with zombies hearing me behind walls bc I'm smarter than them, realize they are there and take measures to avoid them. I did break a bone over a week ago by going prone and ended up dying looking for morphine but I'm fully willing to accept the flaws in order to play this game. Maybe I've just been lucky, I don't know. You should read the pending patch notes though bc some of this stuff is going to be fixed.
Torothin 2 Posted June 27, 2012 new build seems pretty solid. I have not really noticed many issues. Zombie behavior seems a tad less aggressive but I am not complaining. Overall, Rocket is doing a solid job. Things have been way better since the food/water glitch was fixed.
andb52 12 Posted June 27, 2012 I'm sorry that you've been having bad luck. I haven't had any bugs negatively affect me.
Shanks (DayZ) 0 Posted June 27, 2012 So far the only problem I've faced was falling through the wall on top of the hospital to my death, had some good gear, but don't get sweaty about it because this is an Alpha test stage, people seem to forget this(alot) Just be patient, take a break if you need to then come back to it
theerebus 0 Posted June 27, 2012 Bottom line the game is not intended to be "Playable" as a finished product... its intended to be tested... broken... hacked... glitched... exploited... and run threw its paces. So that when the final product hits its release there wont be these problems. As per the game being playable in general.... Ive played for days on a single character. My Current Character will be going on his 3rd night with about 4 hours of game play a night... I've broken bones from zombies... I've agro'd when it dident seem like i should... but i'm prepared and constantly aware and that's all that's required for survival from all game elements except other survivors. Get the supplies you need... target the weapons you need... and these problems wont be a big issue... sure you might get a broken bone or two... and its a known issue... so raid the hospital! At this moment i think i have 6 Morphine Injectors in my bag for just such mishaps.idk... if you cant live more then an hour... Its NOT the game... but your gameplayNot being rude bud but if you have spawned 3 times and you have had those occurrences each time then it must be you and not the game...My sentiments exactly
Macenzie 79 Posted June 27, 2012 Playable? This build is perfectly playable. Alot of what you cite is more problems with the ARMA II engine itself and thus will be tougher to fix.
Jackftw 310 Posted June 27, 2012 I'm finding the game working just fine. Try not to do stupid shit, like running full speed through towns.Prone is your friend.
fenrix 9 Posted June 27, 2012 1.7.1.5 is fairly solid although I went through about a day of play where every 5 minutes I was breaking bones from zombie hits. luckily I had friends nearby with morphine XDbroke my bones about 5 times.known bug, being fixed next update. lowerplains 0 Posted June 27, 2012 im gonna halt my play also until the zombies get worked on. too many broken bones myself, and the zombies are glitching horribly. they see and move thru walls still weather im prone or not. im sure things will be resolved soon, i trust the dev team. zapbrannigan 9 Posted June 27, 2012 Zombies have better vision than Superman at times...You can be prone, staying still and they will run from around the other side of a building to come after you... if you are lucky. Usually they just ghost thru the wall to get you.Mod needs to fix it or add a Proton Pack to deal with stupid ghost zombies.
Bottlerocket 205 Posted June 27, 2012 Broken bones are not an "issue". They're part of the game.
zapbrannigan 9 Posted June 27, 2012 Broken bones are not an "issue". They're part of the game.Because I should break my leg randomly while prone on a small pebble...
fenrix 9 Posted June 27, 2012 actually bottle rocket if you bothered to read the changelog of 1.7.2 you would see they are patching out bones being brittle as they are too brittle.
