The Wisdom and Lessons of DayZ So Far...

Recommended Posts

As a mod veteran player here since the beginning super elite boss player with 5000 hours on SA heed thy words and add your own:

Don't Trust Anyone.

Know The Map As You Know Thyself.

Real Survivors don't Respawn for a better position.

The W key. Get to know it.

Know Your Limitations. Confrontation avoided is confrontation won.

A Man Who Combat Logs, Was Never A Man To Begin With.

If you have to run away, you're already dead.

Shoot first. There are no questions.

Breaking your leg, getting sick, being posioned and passing out builds character.

Never shoot when you can save a bullet.

Your friends on Voice Chat are gonna get you killed. Pay attention.

Survey that town before you loot it, check for open doors and clear streets.

Stick to the Treeline and prone. PRONE.

Watch your Six. Constantly.

You've got a lot of blood. Shoot now, bandage later!

Looting is about essentials. No, you dont need that second pristine whatever it is.

Loud players get heard. Standing players get Seen. Both Are Killed Equally.

Anything that isn't brown or green or black isn't clothing or gear and is killing you.

Zero that rifle, soldier! Remember, the bullet will drop the farther the target is.

Other players run through the woods too. Tree cover is not a cloaking device.

Hackers exist. They do not eat, they do not sleep, and one day they will get you.

A Bandit is a player that took your stuff and let you live.

A Friendly is a player that lowered your guard on Direct Chat and then killed you anyways.

An Idiot is a player that tries to help another player. Kill that person and take what they were going to give you anyways.

A player that handcuffed, posioned, forcefed, beat you unconcious and then shot you in the head, is the better player. You deserved to die.

KOS happens. Deal with it.

It's Alpha.

The moral of your story is go play a real PvP game such as BF4 and save yourself the aggrovation.

lemme guess... you're either a zombie fanboy or a survivalist roleplayer.

sigh.

we were better off before you guys showed up.

Really? From where I'm sitting this game seems to evolve towards the wants of zombie fanboys and survivalist roleplayers rather than thos wanting another call of duty deathmatch. They keep promising more and tougher zombies, adding crafting, weather, disease, nerfing military weapon spawns etc etc.

Got off on the wrong foot too mate sorry.  Although I am not altogether sure, I didn't get some of what you said.

Don't get me wrong I am no carebear, I understand that its a sandbox and you can do what you like. I just try to be the odd one out, to help people as much as possible even at gunpoint. Helping does not mean you give them chances to fuck you over. I just like the extra challenge of being friendly.

there are the people who complain that the game is too deathmatch ...

and that those who play the game their own way instead of the way "it's meant to be played"...

and then there are the people who play the game and know features that make the fanboys and doomsday preppers happy are yet to come...

and then there are the people who really lose their shit after someone KOS's them.

cool cool, i'm down with that, fully.

legit friendlies are a rarity. and nice to run across.

this point in the game i've got to put you down.

on provocation or first chance at a clean shot.

your kind will flourish more as the game develops.

these are survival tips, not social interaction advice.

this is a survival game after all. yolo and all that.
