Server Hosting Help? [115188]

Hey zombie slayers,

 

Before I get started, I just want to say that I have looked around everywhere. I need some help. I want to host a small private server for me and my friends to play on. I can't find any tutorials for hosting a server for the 115188 update. If anyone could help me that would be much appreciated.

You dont.

Not allowed, not yet anyway.

Maybe in future, maybe never.

 

You pay an approved server hosting provider for their services.

 

 

EDIT-in: ALSO - there is no such thing as "private" at this point.

If you lock it, or kick people, you can get your server closed down.

How can I run my own server?

We want to allow private hosting, which includes passworded servers, but we are finalizing changes to our database that will allow us to run a little data instance just for that server. This gives the best of both having a database and having a private community, without those private communities affecting the main database.
