Probably, your gun doesn't have enough stopping power  - especially in DayZ known as lag ... - and the guy you shot, shot you in the same moment. Not even unrealistic btw.

The guy I shot was a new spawn trying to kill me in a very dense forest no one else was around. So I know I was not shot. I was just killed. I was healthy and had pristine clothes on.

Could have been a sniper it happens.

1.) Could be somebody looking for people who pick on bambies

2.) Could have been pissed you took his kill

3.) Could have finished you both off.
