Gun Straps

Recommended Posts

It's called a sling. Please take the "clip" out of your M4 before you hurt someone or yourself. ;)

actually smartass, Slings go on the front of you and ''hang'' the weapon from your chest.

Straps secure it to your back either over one shoulder or cross ways.

ANNNNDDDDDD.......its not a ''clip'' its a magazine, so go jamie foxx yourself.

Good idea, render the straps quality,by the material they are made of.High quality straps would use high quality material.

The army issued ones are preety durable, made out of nylon.

sku_126373_1.jpg

- Material: Nylon + Metal + ABS

- Keeps your weapon in reach and provides perfect balance

- Overall Length: 135cm (adjustable)

- Suitable for all rifles with sling hook

this is a ''sling'' its called a ''single point bungee sling''

Hello smartass see that Remington 700? It is mine, it has a SLING not a strap.

This rifle is not mine, I did however build it, it also has a sling.

Enlighten thine self.

P.S. Slings have a use aside from carrying the rifle, they can be used to increase stability when taking standing shots by wedging the elbow used to grip the for end into the sling. I had thought maybe this was a Canadian versus USA thing, but every Canadian sporting outlet I could find calls them slings as well. His use of Clip was intended as a joke at your expense, using the term strap instead of sling is equivalent to calling a magazine a clip.

Also note that I really don't care, it doesn't bother me as I understood what you were talking about but jumping down that guys throat for correcting you invited this response.

Whoa boy here we go. I used the quotation marks as sarcasm emphasis on clip since I was being prickly about the strap/sling thing. Maybe it's a cultural thing. I've never heard anyone call it a strap. Either way you need to relax.

Let the heavens above Chernarus open up and rain endless beans upon thy holy self, Franchi. Thank you for not being a turd-wrangler like what's his face there. I think we all know how he prefers to use his strap-on...

By being a moron, you're not feeding trolls you're just being a moron. Period. And don't dare use the word sarcasm in my presence after telling me to Kevin Hart myself on the DayZ forum.

You have no idea how to use it so I'm not offended in the slightest. It's like using sarcasm on my 4 year old... She enjoys it but really doesn't understand it.

hahaha how self righteous you are. I understand it completely and if you cant....then go re read the post :) but I guess you cant tell the tone from just reading...

and if I must break it down for you, I say strap because it secures it to your back/shoulder as if you would STRAP something to a bed of a truck and secure it, you do not SLING things to the truck and secure them...

It is an object that has a name, do you also call bi-pods "stabalizers" do you call guns "Bullet throwers" do you call scopes and binoculars "farseeing glass"  do you call bandages "wound protectors"? No you don't the simple fact is you didn't know what they were called. When informed of it you jumped down the guys throat becasue he was snarky, when confronted with the facts you claimed to be trolling, when confronted with that you decided to claim sarcasm.

Why not just do the one thing that no one on the internet ever does, Admit you didn't know. It's so rare that when people do that they tend not to get dragged over the coals.

By that logic you unSTRAP your gun every time you take it off your shoulder.

No. You unsling it. I've never heard of someone saying, "Wait, I'll just unstrap my gun." and then slinging it around off their shoulder. :P

This entire fight is over semantics. It's quite stupid.

I think we can chalk it down to the English language.

Why is it so complicated?

English sucks. I agree! But the fact of the matter is it's not semantics it's nomenclature. You use the proper nomenclature or you risk being called out on the internet. Comparing a gun accessory to a truck accessory is kind of dumb, as well. Unless you're a giant and sling a Ford F150 over your shoulder when you go to combat.

Buuuuuuut... I usually try to chalk these things up to cultural slang usage but I couldn't find a single Google return on "rifle strap." In fact, I asked Jeeves and be called me an ass-hat.

and no sir, you do not ''Unsling'' or atleast I have never heard that term.

when someone whats the gun off the shoulder they ''Equip it''

to ''Unstrap'' it would be to remove the strap from the gun itself.

That's ok. You're obviously 15 and have a lot to learn. I was 15 once as well. Go serve 4 years in your local military. I don't think your commanding officer will tell you to "equip" your rifle. Unless you're in France. That could explain a lot.

''Merica!!!

Edit: looked at your profile and you're apparently 24. I was 24 once as we'll. Did some of my dumbest stuff at 24.

Seriously guys....a minor disagreement of the term sling or strap made you unleash your demons against each other.

Does it really matter that much what is the correct term?

Overall the idea is good, that's what matters.

We should have to find some rope and make a make-shiift strap for our weapons till we can find one.....and have them degrade over time like if we find a leather strap it would wear out faster than say a nylon strap.
