SuperSecretSettings: "Delete character on log-out" ?

So the title is of course not meant seriously.

My character got deleted twice yesterday. When my buddy and I started playing and I logged in, I started as a Bambi on the coast. First thought: "Damn this wasn't a save logout-spot after all." But my buddy and I logged at the same position and he was alive. So i thought: "Hmm bad luck. Anyway." After several hours of playing (I was rather well looted again and we were on NWAF in a group of three) the server we were on restarted. So my buddys reconnect to the server. All good.

I reconnect: Aaaaaaaaand....

"Welcome to Bambi-Land, where Bare-Knuckle-Boxing is the standard form of interaction and Bandit-Referees reward the winner with a shot to the head."

 

I ain't mad or something (Alpha and so on) but i wondered if I was just unlucky or some of you had the same problems.

My friend was having the same issue last night. He died to getting shot, then when he respawned he ran to me, and changed to my server and it said he was dead. At first we both thought he was just killed in the 30sec logout, but he tried to respawn again (had to server hop cuz it would not spawn him) and when he came back on my server, he was dead again. This happened 3 times in total before we gave up and decided to call it a night.

Died like this many times, more times than I've been shot.

I have had this ONCE, at the start of the Alpha.  Are you sure you're not being killed through logging out in unsafe locations?

 

Then again, despite it apparently being rampant, neither have I:

• fallen off a ladder, despite climbing up and down many
• broken my leg falling down the many stairs I have travelled down
• glitched and fallen out of a building
