Every server I join it starts a new character

Had one character played across 15 different servers over time and all loaded properly.  Now every time I join a new server it either resets my character to a brand new one (no deaths involved) or it loads a random one from the 7 different characters I have now.  What's going on?

This dam game is a pile of shit. One thing make sure your not mixing up your regular and hardcore character. I'm currently having a major bug where where im unable to spawn. for the past 12 hours its been unplayable. Click re-spawn and i wait 30seconds to find that im still dead.

Never touched a hardcore server - I'm sure that's not the case.  trying to purposely die and respawn to see if that fixes it.

It's not a game it's an open alpha testing environment. 

As for OP

I currently can play only on servers by Mutilplay without losing my gear.

I basically suicided 3 times and now I'm all set, back to one character playable across servers.
