The kneecapping pandemic

Recommended Posts

So ya if you get shot you go cripple, so gee big surprise thats what edit* EVERYONE WITH A GUN WHO KNOWS ABOUT HOW TO KNEE CAP are doing now just capping bambis SUPER HAPPY FUN TIME YAAAY

I could go around doing the same thing, but unfortunately doing it once or twice actually makes me feel like a bag of dicks so it gets boring fast and since everyone else does it, its not even worth playing the game if you aren't interested in being a griefing jack off, hopefully they allow us to respawn if cripple (LIKE IN THE MOD), but until then playing is just boring, as it becomes more and more of a grief sim than walking sim and survival sim combined.

Im pretty sure thats why people like dayz in the first place, so they can shaft people and laugh at their victims to get off, but for people like me who come in hoping for a survival sim not...whatever it is currently IDK just messed up, they should at least advertise the game as what it is and will most likely stay and not BS people by calling it a survival sim.

Walking sim- makes sense its what you do 70-90% of the time

Open world shooter- sure since thats what it is

Large area deathmatch- same as above

YOLO sim- yep people say FUKITOL and run around without a care

Camping sim- sure why not the game encourages that people stay at one spot for 30 minutes to an hour in order to get a kill

Survival sim- No, nothing at all in this game encourages you to survive its an open world deathmatch game, so hopefully the people making the game cater to that crowd or they make it clear they are not in that crowd cause right now it looks like they are trying to call dayz a survival game like the mod did, and the mod never really changed from a open world death match so I don't see why they dont just label the game OPEN WORLD DEATHMATCH.

You are aware that you have to survive in a Deathmatch too right? Also damn you whine a lot.

But since the patch where items reduce damage from bullets, this is my surest way of locking my prey down to nullify any chance of escape.

After which i line in my 2 mosin headshots that it will take to kill said target, even if he is only wearing a beetlewing for headgear.

Besides, watching them squirm from 600+ meters = best comedy ever.

Cheer up, it will get better dude.

I made a post not too long ago about the actual "Surviving" you need to do in this, its pretty nil right now but that will change.

I know or atleast I heard the next patch we need fire's to keep warm so we dont get sick, that will add a whole nother survival aspect.

You did not successfully survive the people who wanted to do you harm. Let me guess, you died on or near the coast, didnt you.

No need for guesswork.

At this point its a damn near statistical guarantee that it happened at or within 500m from open oceans.

I don't get why we can't just respawn at any time. It would be nice to have as a fail-safe, and I can't really imagine how it could be abused. I know they're adding suicide, but that looks like it's going to require a pistol and ammo. At the very least we should have a 'new character' option on the main menu or something.

Id love you to source that information. I'm calling you out. And if you link me to the video on the landing page, I'm going to laugh.

There is and will be no instant respawn.  You will suffer until you are dead.

Honestly, come right over and kneecap me right this minute.

While youre at it, take everything i have on me.

Truth is, soon as youre gone, my backpack is stashed 300-500 meters away from me. Call it 5-10 minutes and im healed up and good to roll again.

Your failure to plan ahead and give a shit about your character and his survival, has nothing to do with bad design.

Secondly, if ANY of this happens to you within 1km from a coastline, you deserve every bit of suffering that accompanies it, and that times ten even.

Im not gonna go dig it up right now, Judo, but rest assured.

This is confirmed.

Not high priority of any sort, but is confirmed from Dean.

So you hang out on the coast with a backpack stashed half a km away from you, just waiting for someone to come along and shoot you in the knees? That's weird, dude.

My point, as it appears you have missed it slightly, is that shit can happen, and it'd be nice to have a reset that doesn't require you to have a particular in-game item or to be near a zombie or other player. I had a server reset on me while walking through a field shortly after spawning once, and logged back in to the same server seconds later only to have broken legs. Indeed I was unprepared for that, didn't expect a server restart to break my legs though.

The point of splints and morphine is to salvage your character, why shouldn't we be allowed to throw our characters away?

A suicide option, or a re-spawning option, will probably be added. But I would really like to know where he got this pistol and amo information.

If you feel like hunting for it, look for Sacriel's latest vids on youtube. Dean was on his stream talking about the animation and the potential for controversy over it, and about the possible addition of smoking.

I said "it looks like it'll require a pistol and ammo", which means that I'm guessing it will require a pistol and ammo.

Will do thank you.

Edit: Also, back on topic, this is why its probably good to keep a piece of rotten fruit on you.

No, I NEVER go coast.

Shit can, and more often than breaths taken, does happen in Chernarus.

Because, no. Life has no reset button. Deal with your agony. Think of it as a forced timeout to mull over your mistakes and how to avoid them in future.

I get incredibly lonely on full servers when I head north.

Roleplay an insane character. You will never run out of interesting people to converse with!
