Strass_Bass 0 Posted February 16, 2014 I'd like to see fewer "stock" older military rifles in the game in the name of realism. Many people bought Mosins, Springfields, and Lees, and had them sporterized. It was more common in years past than it is now, but there are a lot of sporterized rifles floating around. The Sporterizing of a rifle is basically modifiying it for civilian use. Most commonly so aftermarket scopes and sights can be mounted on said rifle. It results in the typical "classic hunting rifle" look. Picture attached. The stocks are generally modified and shined, things like that. The handguards are modified, and internals are sometimes modified to fit the laws of the area the rifle is owned in.
xRann 126 Posted February 16, 2014 Problem with "Sporterizing" is lugs, frontsights, and flash supressors were usually chopped off, due to length laws, "assault weapon" laws, and blahblah, ends up being just a sawed-off rifle. Like the one in the middle of the pic you posted...some prick did that do a beautiful No. 5 I have. It was however very common stateside from 60's-90's, dunno about elsewhere. -Gews- 7443 Posted February 17, 2014 Here are some interesting Zastava factory rifles... as such they are just sporters and not truly "sporterized". LKP-66, based on the M59/66 (SKS in game), 7 rounds 7.62x39mm LKP-96A, based on the M77, .308 Winchester
