hannibaldaplaya 1095 Posted February 16, 2014 A while ago, after me and my friend (who had broken his legs) decapitated a man for not giving us his morphine (which he instead injected into himself, right in front of us), I had accidentally ate a rotten banana as I tried to force feed him it. Not worrying, I soon found myself sick. My friend had to go, so I left the Fire Station, taking my time, Double-Barrel shotgun up. As I looted a house, I heard footsteps, so I called out on mic. After a while, I stepped out of the house, heard a voice come over on proximity, asking for black spray-paint. I didn't have any, but I offered him my green. After I lowered my weapon, he revealed himself- A man in black clothing, decked out mosin. I then asked him if he had any charcoal tablets to trade. He eventually led me to the hospital, gave me medical supplies, and then disappeared. Right after he left, I found black spray-paint in a nearby school building. zaphodity (DayZ) 41 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) When Dean made this game, part of its inspiration came from the movie The Road. I remember being in prison on remand, there are only two mentalitiesin prison, prey or predator. The game is actually very honest in that respect, people generally aren't very friendly when they are trying to survive a life or death type situation. Everything out here in society is sorta like an illusion. Animals pretending to be humans, pretending not to be animals. It's not until the shite hits the fan that you really see how close to animals people really are, and how quickly "society" can disappear. And I think that's part of what makes the game unique. Chawktah 43 Posted February 17, 2014 Just had an encounter in town myself. In a 3 story i was coming down and someone appeared behind me, think it was lag. He just said hello and seemed like a nice guy. I was rolling with 2 rifles, a mosin and sks, and offered the guy the sks and some ammo. He said sure, he wanted to rid himself of the shotty he was carrying. So, i tell him im going to drop it on the first floor, and while im walking down the stairs, he shoots at me. I had just dropped the sks, so i whip out the mosin and we have a little firefight. He cant hit me, for whatever reason, and after a few rounds I hit him and knock him unconscious. I go up to his body and ask if he needs a bandage, then shoot him in the head.. Lesson of the day, treat anyone with a weapon as a potential hostie at all times.
