Zombie infection

So, you got infected by a zombie, and now your time is running out.

It was be a neat idea that instead of dying out right, you go unconscious, and become a zombie.

/let the chaos ensue...

I was thinking of this but not in a sense where you play as an infected but your body just becomes one as an NPC

I kind of like the idea of dead players becoming zeds, kinda solves the "how to spawn new zeds" problem and if it happens quickly it could curb some of the KOS mentality, you should check the "bambi road" video from the 100 player experimental servers its rather horrifying but that would make for a dangerous road for the killers themselves.

It was stated that death players will not become zed's due to resource reasons.

 

I think getting the zombie infection would be interesting, but its end should be treated as death due to aforementioned limitation.

 

Also many will yell: "but the players are immune!"

 

EDIT: not to mention that this has been suggested approx. 1 million times.

If I'm not mistaken the survivors are immune to the zombie infection thus being survivors. I think the normal infections will be enough :)

So instead you kill them once and then shoot them in the head again so they don't get back up. But still an interesting idea.

It'd be fun to have the option to chase people down as a zombie, like L4D2.

Dean has said one of the major causes of lag in the mod was zombies, and how they were rendered the same as a character with multiple layers and textures.

In the SA they have made all zombies one model and one texture, so the only way to do this would be once a player does turn, they turn onto one of the common zeds, and it wouldn't look like the player did.
