Main menu screen is grey, can't see character.

Recommended Posts

I've had this issue ever since I re-installed the game about a week ago. I've searched the forums for an answer but the threads which have stated a similar problem to mine haven't had an answer back so I thought I would post the issue to see if anyone had a fix. Before I uninstalled the game everything was fine. To improve my fps I had watched some videos which showed that, to increase your fps you had to change some config files. This did indeed increase my fps and no problem came from it straight away. I then uninstalled the game because I needed the disk space and I wasn't playing to much of it. I recently installed the game again and my main menu screen is grey. I can't see my character. Also, have no options to change my character when I go on the character screen. This is quite annoying as I constantly spawn with different, random characters. I saw a fix which said that all you had to do was click on video in the options but that didn't work. I haven't tried re-installing the game again yet because I wanted to wait to do so to see if there was a fix out there for my problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Didn't seem to do the trick, going to re-install and see if that will fix it.

Thanks for the help anyways.

To anyone reading this, re-installing doesn't seem to work either.

Remove -skipintro from your launch parameters. I'm assuming they told you to do that in one of the videos you watched, as 90% of the videos out there do. It's not necessary, and does not in the slightest improve performance.
