1PP servers and the occasional Run mode bug

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I recently checked out a 1st person server as my buddy I play with and I like the idea of having more realistic vision for all. My question is how do you fix the occasional bug where your character will only want to "walk" instead of being able to use Shift or double tap Shift to switch to "run" mode. You can still sprint but there is no in-between.

I fix this bug currently by switching perspective. Is there another way to get around this bug when it happens since you're locked into 1st person view mode on a 1PP server?

You have to right click. You accidentally scoped in. If you aren't holding a weapon or you have a melee weapon, there is no animation for scoping in. This makes it seem like a bug. Simply right click again to solve the problem.

(I thought it was a bug too; I eventually figured it out)

Might still be a bug, in that it could be unintended.

Seems like kind of a stupid feature, as no one in real life would find themselves walking slowly because they don't realize they're pretending to hold a rifle. Certainly not when being chased by zombies or shot at.

Bad controls might be part of the DayZ charm right now, but they don't have to be forever.
