Zombies

Recommended Posts

Through watching various videos on youtube about the mod, they seem to always know when somebody is close by because of zombies being around.

If I spawn in an area, in this case the northwest airfield, and there are zombies about.  Are they there because I'm there or somebody else?

What about an area with no zombies, anyway to know somebody is around?

My last 4-5 deaths were from other players camping an area.  One, I opened a closed door and he was sitting there with an M4 waiting for the first sucker, yay me, to open it to kill.

This last one, I was at the northeast airfield in a hangar and dropped to what sounded like SKS fire.  I was looking towards the door and didn't see him, never saw anybody about.  I don't mind if I get KOS, I just would like to know if there's something that might hint at me not being alone in the area.

Open doors and lack of zombies are good hints that players might have been in the area (or still are). Although a few buildings have doors that are open on default and not every zombie will react to someone running past.

If one half of a town has open doors and the other half hast either means the player knew where wanted to go, was indecissive or is still around.

Zombies running towards something are usually a good sign that someone else is there. Although sometimes they simply might take strange paths to run towards you.

Simply because zombies are in the area and doors are closed does not mean there are no players, while avoiding zombies can be a bit random - their reaction is quite unpredictable at the moment - you can also close doors behind you and a some players do so.

Oh and please use more descriptive titles in the future.

Zombies spawn on server restart, you can't use them to locate players.
