 I've been trying to find some sackage so I can make a sweet courier bag, but have so far been either unlucky or incompetent. 

 

So I'm asking you, forumers of dayz: Where do you find your sack?

I find them most often in barns.  The rope, too.

ya i've been checking barns and those industrial sheds/sites. No dice. 

 

They used to be everywhere before.

Yeah I have yet to find a burlap sack and rope before finding a decent backpack. I'd like to build one but haven't had a reason to thus far.

I ran through a couple of barns before I was able to craft this beauty.

I often find them in these industrial buildings with metal walls and one balcony going around inside (staircase leading up and a small "control room" above one of the gates).

The barns with two big doors that didn't have any loot two or three patches ago are also a good spot to find them.

 

I prefer the small courier bag, very nice, flat profile, yet it doesn't look as improvised as the large one.

 

 

I'd like to build one but haven't had a reason to thus far. 

 

As I said above, very small profile. As the hitbox currently includes the backpack, it can save your life when being shot at, especially when prone.

Those tall-ish apartments buildings have been kind to me thus far. Besides that, barns and industrial sites are your best shot.
