spawn delay is nice, but 300 seconds is way too long

i like the new spawn delay, getting rid of hoppers and battle loggers

 

but dont you think 300 seconds is too long?

 

i mean thats a solid 5 minutes 

 

 

If i had my way you would only be able to join 1 server untill you died then you can pick another one and if you do join another server whith a fully geard char then it gets insta-killed if its been less than 24hrs.

 

Peniltys should be harsh in this game it makes playing more fun and survival more real.

 

Any way thats my opinion.

 

Also if you get the 300's cooldown your char should be stripped of all weapons.

5 minutes is okay, even more would be okay...if the protection system could reliably differntiate between server hoppers and legit server changers. Actually it can't.

 

 

Lately i joined a server based of time of day (browser said it was 13:42 on that server). After spawning i wondered why it was dark night. Okay, it's alpha, it's early access, things like this can happen, will be probably fixed when final. Okay, back to server browser, picking another server...."Spawning in 230 seconds". Okay. Waited, spawned in. Seconds later: "You were kicked". Great, admin abuse. Again, back to the server browser, again picking another server...aaaand "Spawning in 240 seconds".

 

Actually the server hopper protection system is equal to game copy protection systems: it punishes the wrong ones more than those it should punish.

 

 

If this get improved and "false positives" are no longer punished, timer could be raised to 30 minutes.

when you rejoin a server that have restarted , the timer is not going active..... what are you talking about dude?

serverhopping is what it makes it active

I call BS.

 

I've never had a spawn timer.. and yesterday the servers were restarting every 10 minutes.  Still never got as timer.  You don't get a timer when the server restarts.

 

Hell i'd be happy with 20 minutes... it simply does not affect those that join a server and play...

Yeah this doesn't happen. A server restart grants you one free hop. Who gave beans? I will admit, it can be frustrating getting a long timer when you truly aren't server hopping, which does happen sometimes, but the ends justify the means. Besides, you can still hop if you want to. You just can't do it repeatedly.

It wouldn't be 300 sec if the server restarts and you rejoin, unless you have done it twice in a short period of time. Which would imply that you didn't stick to one server.

in fairness there our times where i join a server and it ends up a night server and have to quit, then join another server only for it to be a night server and end up with a stupid long spawn time for no real reason other then trying to find a good server to play on.

Well, it's a precausion to prevent people from serverjumping. And 5 minutes spawntimer is probably a good thing, cause you were obviously annoyed by the spawntimer you got and it was because you serverjumped for loot. Which is kind of OP imo, for finding loot and getting out of combat etc.
