Random Encounters - Forest

Recommended Posts

Maybe it already happens and I have yet to see it but I spent a lot of time with another player navigating the wilderness and in the pitch dark we both agreed that a zombie encounter in the forest would be TOO FREAKING SCARY.

Are there plans to make random encounters in the wilderness? This would maintain the tension as currently you know that nothing major will happen if roaming the forest.

Cheers,

Z-GrimV

I could see maybe a small group of zombies that have stumbled into the forest and now they just stand around not knowing where to go. It would add to the experience of sneaking through the forest.

My group was talking about this the other night. The only problem at the moment is the zombie spawn chance and amount are tied to buildings. I suppose random grid marks for them to spawn could be possible, Im not sure how the coding works. Though I suppose attaching them to radio towers, power line structures or the like might be some thing they could do. To be honest, I would like to see larger amounts of zombies spawn but have it so they spawn in a wider area and move out further. Say like the edge of Cherno, they spawn off the outside buildings but up to 2-3km out. This would put them in the forest around the area. To many times I have sprinted up to the town till the last second when I know Im in the spawn range and just slow down.
