Anyone have a GTX 580?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to fiddle with my settings to get the best FPS.

I've seen different videos where people fiddle with all their settings until they get great FPS, even on older rigs, but I can't find anything for the GTX 580.

Anyone have any tips or links?

I know this has been posted somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

lower settings until you get the fps you want.

the 580 is a bit older, but still a good card.

better then a 660ti and a touch worse then a 760.

should not have a problem getting good fps with that card.

also there is a known issue with the game right now that is causing bad fps.

they are working on it.

I have a Gainward GTX 580 Phantom. It's a bit overclocked but not by that much.

As a general rule of thumb i play with:

  • Textures and Shadows on High
  • AO and Rotation-Blur Disabled
  • PP on Very Low
  • everything else on Normal

These are not the absolute best settings for fps, but i find they have to best balance between looks and performance.

If you want i can post some screenshots of my settings and a pastebin of my config.

you can't possibly be having fps issues with a gtx 580. I do fine all high/very high with i52500k and gtx 470 ov/oc

Nonsense, you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

OP: I'm running an overclocked i5, 8GB RAM, and have a GTX680 4GB model.

My frames in cities like Cherno will often drop as low as 20FPS. The game hasn't been optimised yet, and it won't be done for quite a while, unfortunately,

 Thanks man, I'll try that!

My problem is that I was trying to balance my system specs, but I hear if you lower stuff too much, the CPU takes over. I have a 3 year old i7 (it was top notch 3 years ago), so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Anywho, Ill try what namco-4 suggested, and hopefully that'll clear up some problems!

Just FYI, turning PP to Very Low gave me a tremendous FPS boost for the most part, until after 5 minutes everything started to chug... .lower, and lower and lower. I think that's the recent patch issue though, with people still keeping their blinking pre-patch gear.

Sure... Very high lol

r9 280x - 30-50 frames. Medium-high.

To OP you probably will have to figure for yourself how to custom setting.

Make sure clouds are off.

Shadows very low.

VSync off

It was the Post Processing that was apparently getting me.... I think....

At this rate it's hard to tell because no matter what server I join, my FPS starts to die after a few minutes and then I have to Ctrl + Alt + Del and shut the game down. And this is after I replaced all my gear with post patch stuff :/
