Alternative Fix for Server Hopping

The new server hopping time thing doesn't really stop people from doing it especially if the max wait is only 280 seconds. Or at least that's the time that I heard was the max time. Instead of the new wait time for server hopping, I think that we should make every server be a different character for your profile. So technically you can have a crap ton of characters, but it would totally solve the problem of server hopping and at the same time would make the playtime longer because if you die on one server with friends then you can just hop on another that you know you are geared or together. This does make the whole re-spawning thing kind of useless, but at the same time not really. You will run out of guys eventually and have to restart over again. I really was just looking for an alternative to deal with server hopping. Let me know what you guys think or suggest other ways as well. :D

No.. This is just a temporary fix and they've said they plan on implementing a different system eventually. Have a new char in ever sever is pointless. Severs restet/crash constantly so making a new toon everytime I switch a server is not an alternative fix for anything.

That would be a ton of work + server data base size would need to be increased to save all of the characters.

this goes completely against the core concept of the game. what you suggest is basically the private hive concept, which will come once the core game is finished. but private hives were - imho - a cancer in the mod.

 

having ONE character per difficulty setting across all public servers of that setting makes death meaningful in the first place.
