musketeer 33 Posted February 8, 2014 Just going to point out... that's not 2 barrels. The bottom "barrel" is a tube where excess gas can escape from the gun when firing.

Franchi (DayZ) 146 Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) Just going to point out... that's not 2 barrels. The bottom "barrel" is a tube where excess gas can escape from the gun when firing. Its a break action gun, no break action gun ever made (to my knowledge) has any form of gas system. The closest you get to that is the recoil operated triggers on some skeet guns, but that's recoil, not gas. Why would you want to vent the gases from such a gun? What possible benefit could that provide? You don't need to use the gasses to cycle the action, the chamber pressures are not near dangerous levels, and even if they were, you would simply use a cartridge that produces lower chamber pressures. Its modeled after the classic European hunting rifles known as double rifles or combination gunshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savage_Model_24#Calibers.2Fgauges This particular gun is still being built today, and it does in fact have two barrels.http://www.blaser.de/index.php?id=56&L=1 Edited February 8, 2014 by Franchi
