How To Install DayZ Mod?

I have Arma2/Arma2:OA but need alittle help here (yes I'm a noob)

Are these steps correct? Cause I did these and can't play the dayzmod.

 

For steam users:

 

1. Make sure you have updated Arma2 / Arma2 OA 

 

Note : ARMA2 Beta patch 103419 is now mandatory install 

 

Insure to download and install it from here :

Required: Download the Origins required Arma2OA Beta Update from here (103419)

 

3. Extract the Zip file to a temp folder then copy @DayZOrigins Folder to the root of Arma2OA folder 

 

4. Download the best compatible with Origins Arma2OA Beta Update from here (103419)

 

5. Extract the file to any temporary directory then Run the update. 

 

Note: SSome times the update gives you error Wrong Key or some thing .. just ignore it and continue with the latest patch installation .. click ok then ok 

 

6. Download the Mod start shortcut from here 

 

 

7. Extract the Zip file to a temp folder then copy RUN DAYZ ORIGINS.CMD FILE to the root of Arma2OA folder ( same like step number (3)

 

8. Double click on RUN DAYZ ORIGINS to Run the MOD

 

9. Join DayzOrigins Servers (Search for: dayzorigins.com servers ) or Add DayzOrigins to your game server Filter.

Have you tried to download DayZ Commander? Much easier to add different mods such as Origins and others. That's what i use and it is about 3 or 4 easy steps.

That guide concerns Origins which is a modification of DayZ Mod.

Go through this Topic and get the vanilla mod working before attempting anything else.
