PSA:DO NOT BOTHER WITH BERRIES (they are worse than rotten food)

So most people are still trying to figure out what berry bushes look like or where to find them.

 

Well don't bother, I can safely say after attempting 4-5 times that it just is NOT worth the trouble at ALL.

You can easily run halfway across the map to an unlooted town before finding 3 berries from bushes then also be poison by said berries.

 

Berry picking run down

 

Pros

- Possible food item

 

Cons

- More than half the time they make you sick

- And 9/10 times you won't even find a single berry (I searched literally 10-15 bushes next to one another and nothing but 1 berry...and big surprise it made me sick)

 

They may only make you a little sick, but the fact that you can try picking berries for over 5-10 minutes and get nothing or just a single one then get sick...its really not worth it.

 

I can understand getting sick, but the fact that a big ole bush doesn't have a single berry out of 10+ bushes...kinda bullshit so ya. Just a warning to those who are curious about berries.

My guess is that this system is being implemented now so it can be ready, polished and in place by the time the zombie/player/loot design makes it more difficult and players may be forced into **attempting** to eat berries to survive.

there are supposed to be two different bushes, yielding two different berries. one safe to eat and one poisonus.

Koala's eat their mother's feces to build an immunity to Australian plant poisons, and you can't even take one berry?  :( You can leave your koala card by the door.

Last round on the Experimental servers I kept myself alive with berries and well water. Rate is low at ~1/10 times, but as long as you identify the right bushes (there are two different types) you should be fine.

I know that the safe berry bush to eat from looks like it has two bushes in one per say. And the poisonous bush looks more "branchy."

Hope this helped! Also, the berry bushes saved my life on an experimental server
