deus_drone 98 Posted February 6, 2014 I just want to give the community a few ideas on how to manage their weapons. So my Hardcore server character is currently carrying and able to carry,SKS on my shoulder,.357 Colt Python in my assault vest,FX pistol in my Assault vestSawn off Shotgun in my packand M4 in my hands All the guns have their attachments (nothing special just saying that some do) I also have ammo to boot. So if you manage your gear to, you should be able to carry all of the above.Just remember the weapon in your hands will be dropped when you change weapons. If you are able to get a plastic carry case and an ammo box it makes carrying all the ammo easier. If someone kills me I will be a massive payday for someone. musketeer 33 Posted February 6, 2014 I hope they add a weight system, so people who do decide to carry an excessive amount of guns will be prevented from running or summin', just to balance it out a bit.
deus_drone 98 Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah I think weight is needed as this is obscene, I don't kill bambi's unless they try to be nubs and axe me or something. But this almost warrants me going into Berezino and having a Slaughter.
Chaingunfighter 917 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Not as efficient as you'd think, unless you were carrying a gun for someone else or had a camp to store 'em at.You'd have to drop the M4 before you could ever use the SKS or other guns, and you don't have any holster to pull out either of the pistols. If I were you I'd drop either the M4 or SKS and one of the pistols, and save room to have enough ammo for your primary, secondary and tertiary weapons. (Best bet would be the SKS, Sawed-Off IZH-43 and FNX if you wanted the most effective variety) Edited February 6, 2014 by Chaingunfighter
musketeer 33 Posted February 6, 2014 I've just had an image from Hot Fuzz.... So many guns! Will you bring that shotgun and have a shootout with me?
dricht1 28 Posted February 6, 2014 I have found four or five distinct inventory bugs gathering gear for friends who are supposed to be playing soon. Reported of course, but for now I am an even bigger loot piñata.
BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted February 6, 2014 I just don't see that advantage of carrying one main rifle in your hands and one on your shoulder. I have tried it and it is such a hassle to do just about everything else in the game, so much so that, besides carrying a rifle for your friend, the only case where this is to your advantage if is your sole purpose in this game is to wander from one gunfight to another, with no survival playing inbetween. Personally I prefer carrying only one main weapon, and then adapting my playstyle accordingly. A pistol or revolver is of course a necessity, especially if you choose the mosin. I have written off the sawn off. It is simply not worth it, and I would rather trust my axe than that gun in close encounters. If I ever find the SKS that will probably be my prefered rifle on account of its versatility.
TD808 71 Posted February 6, 2014 "I also have ammo to boot" For a second I read this as: I also have ammo in my boot.

Now that you mention it, it would actually be cool if you could store certain items in your boots. Like a knife or some other sharp object. deus_drone 98 Posted February 6, 2014 I am carrying all of them because it is funny but as I said I have a silly amount of ammo and magazines, I have 3 yellow plastic cases, 2 ammo boxes, 1 in each then one with meds. I can maintain this equipment, and ammo. Yeah sure changing guns on the fly is a pain but with the m4 in my hands anything inside of 200 meters is dead and anything outside of 200 meters is not an immediate threat so I have time. TEST_SUBJECT_83 465 Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah you feel bad ass with all those weapons, but seriously do you ever use them all?I used to carry as many weapons as possible, but realized I always stuck to one.Now I only carry one primary and that it! Since the pistols dont work as a sidearm, meaning I cant quickly pull it out when Im out of ammo in my primary, its useless to me.If the Chest holster worked like I want them to...make whatever pistol you have in it immediately ADS when your primary is out of back up mags, then I would use it.Stick to one weapon and safe inventory space.Travel light and you'll be a happy survivor. Just my 2 cents!
Rudette 435 Posted February 6, 2014 Smaller Load = Faster movement speed is the way I'd like to see it!Not sure most people will see it that way though. Us melee using backpackless lunatics get to much of a leg up probably >.>

I has 8 slots, allowing you to carry two pistols, and pulling them out works exactly the same (ie, hit the hot bar key).
Metalunatic 25 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Don't really see the point in carrying more than two weapons at a time. Main weapon and a sidearm. Maybe a sawed-off for clearing buildings, but that's pushing it. Edited February 7, 2014 by Metalunatic

I currently carry as many as I can because I know my friends are going to die and need another one lol
deus_drone 98 Posted February 7, 2014 What else would I carry though, I am always very well fed and my character is stuffed, ZOmbies never touch me so I have 2 bandages, I avoid players unless I have no other choice and I have been alive since early Jan.
