Tough zombies?

So recently I got my first fixeaxe, and after a couple zombie encounters of me avoiding them I got trapped inside a barracks by one and resorted to my fireaxe to take it down. After 4 confirmed hits ( I think, made the sound of it hitting. Saw blood as well ) It died, I thought the fireaxe 1 hit killed zombies. 

 

The axe was in pristine condition after I checked it, so I was wondering if it might be a server issue, or zombie issue ( it was a regular civilian zombie, not a military one ), or something I don't know about?

 

EDIT: I was in first person mode too when hitting it, if that means anything.

Melee has problems indoors. Due to the way the melee works in the SA vs the mod the axe 80% of the time will hit the roof. The safest way to deal with them is in a room with a high roof or outside.

Never heard of anyone having this problem, and never had it myself... maybe lag... or inaccuracy? Fighting in buildings is really buggy, mostly you will hit walls and ceilings...

After the latest patch i noticed same. You better kill them outside the building.

Yes, Military zombies are suppose to be tougher, that combined with the possibility that you hit a wall/roof was more than likely.

Wel military zombies still drop from one hit with axe, I expected more thougness to come but no. Still easy if you just circle them.

They still only need 1 axe hit to be taken down though.
